Np at all. I feel like your post is exactly what this subreddit is for! Random internet people have helped me a ton on here before too, just glad I had a little to contribute :) Also, I'd highly reccomend this guy Eckhart Tolle. Specifically his second book "a new earth". It starts out a little woo woo, but don't let that fool you - the guy is seriously educated in philosophy and almost all religions (I'm saying that as a confirmed athiest and philosophy major). He has a way of looking at things…

Hey man, first off good on you for creating this post. Absolutely the best first step. Only one minor thing I want to add, as someone who was in your shoes about 6 years ago - be careful with buddhism, as it can sometimes feed into a sense of superiority over other "unenlightened" people. Not saying this is the case for everyone, but I had to check myself constantly on that. That side of Buddhism is subconsciously appealing in the same exact way TRP is, in a subtle way feeding your ego as being …

"In general what is happening is that, through trial and error, these guys end up trying enough times to find someone who is interested. "

Ok so field reports are bad and written by people who didn't understand what was happening in the context of humanity as a whole? Is that what you're saying?

I agree with everything you say, but I'd challenge you to create a better reasoning regarding the last "field reports aren't true". I personally have experienced, and also witnessed, many a situation that was "field report" worthy. Again, I agree with everything you say up to this point. But there is some undeniable evidence in the behaviors observed in field reports that warrants more thought. Otherwise you're just preaching to the echo chamber, so to speak.

Good comments so far on here, definitely follow up. My advice as someone who started to feel how it sounds like you're feeling during my red pill experience: Start looking at men too. Apply the same logic, honestly, to them as well. What you might find is that, it turns out, everyone is human. We're all, for the most part, animals. Its unavoidable. Women have their things, men have a whole other set of shallow behaviors as well. No matter how wise we get, how broad our conscious perspective beco…

Sounds like you're dating the wrong girls, beta boy. I used to be like you, but then I got in shape and learned game. Now I only date girls with a good 1 to 2 foot vagina-asshole distance.

33m. For me, they increased just a ton. I stay in shape and don't smoke, also worked in sales for a year and a half which definitely had a positive effect on my charisma. However, while I do have a master's degree, I've truly never had a great job/much money. Here's the thing - have you talked to a 25 year old guy recently? As long as you've developing yourself, learning things, and improving however slowly over the years, you're just going to blow most of them out of the water when you open you…

Every man going gay is a bit... unrealistic? And does a disservice to your reasonable points.

Makeup definitely helps. If most guys had years of experience cosmetically making their face prettier by college, might be different. Also, seems to me that women are generally the most "pretty" right around college age. Guys take a few more years to become "men"

I could see that definitely making it hard. Even despite that, you're still probably the best and only judge for what works for you. One thing I agree with, that some of the other posts on here are trying to say in their own reddit rant ways is: it's up to you to be the kind of person that both attracts someone open to a long term relationship, and entices them to stay. In that equation, the only thing you can control is you

It 100% is, and if you withhold sex as a test it's going to scare away the good ones (and justifiably so). Also not much fun. Your only real recourse is to go with your gut, work on being pretty great outside the bedroom too, communicate well, and hope. That's the game we all play, for better or worse - no way to be completely without risk in love.

You're looking at this from the perspective of "what's most advantageous for shy men", which is quite an assumption. Also, your argument assumes that all attractive men are incapable of getting into a meaningful relationship with a woman that shows interest. Another way to look at OP's might be: if you're a shy woman, starting a conversation with a man you find attractive will help you get laid or find love, whatever you choose

You missed the point here. I take OP to be talking to single women who are finding it hard to meet men. This advice is spot on, from my own personal experience. TBH your response seems weirdly defensive.

Many of these cases are men who are trying to do just that. Catholic priests come to mind.

Nah brah, I ain't no beta loser. You're not a man until you've seduced the killer female space clown, get her to fall for you, then break up with her. Its exactly like the movie, but with more space clown sex.

Yeah, this exactly. u/Tyler_Gatsby, what's your take on this sort of advice? Does it seem reasonable, or is this mindest flawed?

Interesting, I like the logic at least: based off of how past behaviors can predict future behaviors. So in this case is N count a measure of how likely a person is to stay monogomous, or be monogamous in the first place? Which is the value driver, so to speak?

The reason this topic is so hotly debated is that its a grey area. You're correct, men OBSESSED with N count are a huge red flag, but there are also sensible guys who might raise an eyebrow at a larger N count than the norm. The main point I'd like to actually see discussed from an honest female perspective is: what is a reasonable N count, and what can higher or lower N counts mean (in broad strokes, of course). For example, if a girl is lets say 25 with an n count of 10, who cares? Lots of rea…

I'll disagree on a minor but significant technicality: most of the men I know are wary of women with an N of 0. 0, especially as one gets older, can mean many, many things, most of them not positive. Best case, she's got an iron will and wants to wait for a guy who really connects/meets her standards (be they cultural or personal). Worst case... worst case has the same connotations for men as it is for women. Plus, inexperience in a partner with the emotional effects of a sexual relationship can…
