and when that is proven wrong with statistics to back it up I was pointing out the statistics are missing a dimension, so I think it's premature to say 'proven.' That's all. The same statistics outside of the percentages admit that women are owed at least an order of magnitude more dollars in outstanding debt than men.. so just comparing percentages might not tell a complete story.

Those statistics are pretty incomplete though.. what is the average assessment of child support of women vs. men. Are women typically obligated to pay less? If so.. that may color those statistics significantly.

you must do whatever is necessary to take care of it. And children are damn expensive. The law is stilted though, and it sets up a situation where someone is ostensibly giving out money to support their child, but the discretion of how that money is spent is entirely up to the other spouse.
