Are traditional men insecure?Personally, I think yes. Most of the time, guys who want to be seen as the "leaders of their households" and be the sole provider for their "tradwives" tend to be very insecure. It's not enough that their lifestyle works for them - it has to be perceived by others as the correct way to live. Also I kind of feel like this mindset is outdated even if only based on the modern economy. Who can afford to feed a family on a single income these days? Not the average joe, that's for sure. | /r/MensRights | 06/05/24 06:36 PM
What exactly do men want in a woman? There are so many different perspectives it’s hard to keep them straight.Men are individuals who all want different things in a partner. You could ask a hundred men and get a hundred answers. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/23 07:48 PM
Men’s skin care advice needed. This may be off-topic so I apologize in advance.I'd guess one bar typically lasted me about a month or so but your mileage may vary depending on your showering habits. | /r/MensRights | 02/01/23 04:51 PM
Men’s skin care advice needed. This may be off-topic so I apologize in advance.I've used Dr. Squatch soap and had a good experience with it. Their bars moisturize pretty well and I really like the scents. You can probably get a similar experience from other brands for less money but I felt like squatch was generally worth what I paid for it. | /r/MensRights | 02/01/23 05:25 AM
A girl sends a picture of their boobs and it’s ‘hot’ or ‘sexy’. A guys sends a picture of his penis and he’s labelled as a ‘pervert’ or ‘creep’The key is consent. If a man is asked for lewd pictures, he's almost never labeled "creepy" or "perverted" for sending them. *Unsolicited* dick pics are the real issue. That being said, women shouldn't send unsolicited nudes either. | /r/MensRights | 11/02/22 12:25 AM
My wife actually agrees with the idea that men should have the right to financially abort their responsibly of a child the same as a woman has the right to abort an unwanted pregnancy. There actually is a legal mechanism for what you've described, but it can vary by state and may depend on a judge's discretion. It's called termination of parental rights (TNR). Basically, in return for giving up any rights you'd otherwise have as the kid's father, you can theoretically absolve yourself of any responsibility to pay child support. Again, it doesn't apply the same way in every situation but it is an option. | /r/MensRights | 18/12/21 03:57 PM
Write to NewspapersI work for a newspaper and I think this is a great idea. However, there are a couple things you have to keep in mind if you're going to do it: Keep it relevant. OP's first point is very helpful - try to keep your letter to the editor relavant to a recent news article or another letter you disagree with. It's easier for us to find space for timely, topical letters. Keep it coherent and articulate. Whatever you do, just use complete sentences, actual words and proper grammar. If a letter is submit… | /r/MensRights | 16/04/13 06:40 PM

Jezebel's 2nd Annual Pegging Appreciation Article. Just the thing to free your boyfriend from the grip of the Patriarchy. If you're a straight dude and you like your woman to penetrate you, that's totally cool and your reasons are your own. But if that's something that you're not cool with just for the sake of not wanting things in your ass, that's also absolutely fine and it doesn't make you homophobic, misogynist, insecure or anything else. It just means you have boundaries. | /r/MensRights | 02/03/13 03:42 AM

The Double Bind Of A Man Standing Up For HimselfWhat is "reverse sexism?" Sexism is sexism, right? | /r/MensRights | 28/02/13 04:04 AM
Just in case people missed out on the story of Bridezilla. (X-Post SRSsucks)That's actually kind of a sad story. She definitely overreacted and wasn't very supportive of her fiance's grief over his father's death, but at least she eventually realized what had happened and tried to make things right. It's unfortunate that their relationship is falling apart, but it might be for the best that he realized this early that she wasn't right for him. Still, I sympathize with her situation, if not her reasoning. | /r/MensRights | 17/01/13 03:14 AM
Just expressing my frustration...I agree entirely. Just saying what I've been told. | /r/MensRights | 11/01/13 09:20 PM
Male Birth Control could be cresting the horizon within a few years. I encourage all of you to look at at least one or two of these sources and try to stay educated about this. This is an amazing development. Definitely going to follow this. | /r/MensRights | 11/01/13 06:28 PM
Just expressing my frustration...Good point, but the problem is many feminists (at least the ones I know) see "patriarchy" and "old gender roles that screw over both sexes" as the same thing. I've been told by these people that "the key to men's liberation is women's liberation." I know, I still haven't made sense of it either. | /r/MensRights | 11/01/13 06:27 PM
Got kicked out of feminist classDo you mean a women's studies course? I've never heard of "feminist class" Either way, civil disagreement and differing ideas shouldn't irk an instructor or classroom so much. Of course, I'm assuming you weren't rude or disruptive. You weren't, were you? | /r/MensRights | 10/01/13 09:06 PM

Victim blaming analogy, thoughts? The "dress appropriately" warning is kind of irrelevant. Rapists don't target scantily clad victims, it's more a question of how vulnerable you seem in general. | /r/MensRights | 06/11/12 05:43 AM
Isn't selecting one person for a job over another based solely upon their gender the very definition of sexism? It's only sexist if men do it. /s | /r/MensRights | 22/10/12 02:04 AM
Hi /r/mensrights. Girl here. I was wondering if I can get some advice? (If I'm in the wrong subreddit, please tell me where to go)I can only imagine the courage it took to put all of this to words, and I commend you for taking that step. Given what you've gone through, I'd say your fears and anxieties are entirely understandable. My only advice is to keep seeing your therapist and understand whenever possible that not all men are monsters like the ones you've had the profound misfortune to meet. Previous comments about learning to protect yourself and such are good bits of advice. Just be strong and keep seeking help for a… | /r/MensRights | 22/10/12 02:03 AM

Thoughts on circumcision:I'm circumcised and I'm perfectly fine with it. If it's something you've lived with your entire life, it all comes down to perspective and education IMO. As long as you raise your son from the get-go to understand that there is nothing wrong with him and that circumcision is a simple vanity procedure, I think he'll be fine. Just make sure he knows that he's the way he was born. If any women in his life (assuming he's straight) give him grief for not being circumcised, just tell him to tell them … | /r/MensRights | 17/10/12 01:11 AM

Seriously confused man- What does r/MensRights think of feminism? please readThe way I see it, there are feminists who see feminism as "the radical notion that women are people" and are, overall, rather civil, intelligent and even-tempered about their ideas. Then you have the feminists who see women's issues as inherently more important than men's issues. It's this second group that I have a problem with; they claim they are concerned with equality but ignore legitimate double-standards and societal expectations that harm and/or pigeonhole males and focus instead on abst… | /r/MensRights | 28/07/12 06:36 AM
