Dude you sound like a condescending douche bag. Also, I was speaking about morality and the fact that generalizations will likely have a negative impact on his interactions with individual members of a specific group. I will say that I doubt OP has enough unbiased data to ascertain whether his generalizations and prejudices about women in SF is correct, and I've yet to see a sociological/psychological study on the matter.

This type of generalization is not okay for several reasons. OP's chances of befriending or finding a girl to date are diminished because he has preconceived notions about women in SF and has negative expectations at the outset. Generalizations, stereotypes, and prejudices about specific groups contribute to alienation, judgement, hatred, and avoidance of individuals. To me, this moment punctuated every worst suspicion I had about the women living in SF. I would be upset as well if someone reacted the same way if I asked them a simple question. However, this generalization is not okay. You shouldn't have prejudices about all women who live in a city and extrapolate the bitchy behaviour of one person to cover an entire group.

True. I'm very liberal and that means that I believe in equality, whether the injustices be against men or women. Feminism has grown into this ugly entity that seeks to place women ahead of men and establish a ridiculous degree of political correctness. Just by looking at SRS and a lot of Tumblr you can see what terrible, ridiculous, and hateful people some feminists are.

Hopefully with the relative demise of television as compared with the rise of the internet, there will be a more balanced representation of gender roles for future generations. Almost all of the shows I watch regularly have male role models: The Office (Jim), Suits (Mike and Harvey), Parks and Rec (Ron Swanson), How I Met Your Mother (Ted), and Breaking Bad (anti-hero kind of but he definitely is not an idiot, nor does he get pushed around by women).

This subreddit is about equality for all, I'd suggest you go be a bigot somewhere else. I'm a straight male and if I had a son who was more feminine or gay I'd hope that he wasn't treated improperly because of his gender or his sexual orientation. I can't speak for the other members, but equality and fairness is what I believe in.

I think the only true definition of equality is collective equality, where all citizens are afforded the same rights. Note: I am referring to equality only in the sense of collective rights and equal opportunity - not total equality, as in a communist or socialist society.

I hope that justice is properly served, whether that means him being pardoned or not. Why was the girl in the bed to begin with? I do want to say that this sentence seems excessively harsh considering he has no prior record, stopped as soon as she said no, and she was in his bed. Here in Canada he would get a slap on the wrist - for better or worse.

This is one of the most ridiculous human rights complaints I have ever seen and we have lots here in Ontario. The only human rights violation would be forcing these men to violate their religious beliefs so that a women can get a haircut that she could easily get anywhere else.

It's absolutely sickening that she will get off so easily for this heinous crime - if the genders were reversed the sentence would be around 10 years in prison. It's a complete double standard - the sentences should be harsh for child rapists of either gender. Lock her up for life!
