If you're trying to convince somebody, it's better not to insult them. Otherwise, they're going to become more hostile and more likely to disagree even if they would have agreed with what you said. When did I say the dad was at fault? When did I say anyone was at fault? We don't know who is in the wrong here so we shouldn't assume at all, just like we said. We should show him sympathy but not go out and call the woman a horrible person just because he said so.

What the hell is wrong with you guys. Imagine a woman wants attention and sympathy so after having a wonderful night out with a man, she goes and says she got raped by him on twitter. If you saw this tweet, you'd find it horrible that anyone could assume that the man raped her just because she made a tweet saying that he did, right? Why does that not apply here? You just copy and pasted that comment. Doesn't really matter though. Statistically, he is most likely to not be abusive. Does this mean he is not the abuser? No. Does this mean he is the abuser? No. The same applies to the mother. We don't know so we shouldn't assume. I can't believe the same subreddit that advocates for not assuming the man is guilty in a rape case is all for assuming the woman is guilty when a man claims parental alienation from a single tweet.

If a majority of rapes are committed by men That's an if statement, I'm not saying they are. Ignore whether they are or aren't and look at what I've said. We shouldn't assume that someone is guilty just because someone said they did it and statistically, they are more likely to do it than the opposite gender. We should treat the supposed victim as if they are a victim, but also treat the accused as if they are a suspect, not the perpetrator.

Nobody is implying that the dad is doing it, he just said that it could be that the dad is the bad one in the relationship. If a majority of rapes are committed by men and a woman accused a man of raping her, you'd question whether what she said was true right? He's not a jerk for wanting to hear both sides of the story. All we have is the father saying the mother is alienating him from their kid, it could be true, it could be a lie, who knows. But we shouldn't automatically assume that the mother is in the wrong. The same way we shouldn't assume that if a man is accused of rape, he must be guilty; we shouldn't assume that if a mother is accused of alienating her child from her father, she is guilty.

That doesn't prove that the father is abusive. The guy you replied to isn't saying that he probably is, he's saying that he may be. The father could be abusive, you can't deny that.
