Explains why it’s not the same girl. Until he decides to put up a sugar baby for himself.

It’s a hard place to crawl out of. Before online school was really a thing I got back into college - but the wait list for the college daycare was a year long. I had no options and my ex, as abusive as he was, had to work two jobs (that’s how hard he was willing to work to keep me trapped lol). I had to forgo school for several more years, and trying to enter the workforce while wrapping up my BA was difficult. I eventually landed in my career track by lucky chance. Now I’m a single happy camper…

I just had this convo with my cousin about her ex husband. When tax time came (they both worked he made way more) it was spent by him before it even hit their bank account. It was always what toys he wanted or what tattoos he wanted or he decided it had to be for down payments on cars. Never mind their girls needed coats, clothes and shoes that fit. Never mind she wanted to get them out of their shit rental and into a decent home. Her check went into “their” account, but she had to beg for the $…

I had a cop tell me “well I talked to him on the phone, he seems pretty upset about you breaking up, but he seems to really care about you and says he’ll leave you alone”. I had called the police in sheer panic because he was threatening to harass my bosses at work and he had stated in text “if it were legal I would beat your face in”.

Discovered an ex had followed tons of these types on his Instagram…I’d never thought to look at what he was following until after I after I broke up with him. I quickly decided after that I didn’t need to keep looking at any of his socials and blocked him.

I learned this the hard way. Exes utterly weaponized past trauma against me. I shared in the first place because it initially was reciprocal, it seemed. I thought it was bonding and deepening of trust, etc. Barf. Going forward, if applicable, my lips are sealed on trauma save for my therapist (likewise I’m done being therapist for damaged men).

My last ex was conversely preoccupied by how good he thought I looked (hey I agree I look good) but it was getting weird. The last night/fight we had together I was in shock and he was in smooth over mode and he randomly, out of nowhere, said “your abs are right and tight”. I wanted emotional assurance we were okay and that I was heard, instead I got praise for being a trophy. That’s all how I mattered to him.

My experience with OLD ran me into a cluster of cluster Bs. I think dating apps lend themselves to people with personality disorders that I am more than done dealing with.

Exhausting is the only adjective I can think of from my experience in OLD. I was on an old OLD (ha) account the other day trying to delete the whole thing and I realized my whole body was frozen stiff in ickiness. I had to actively engage in deep breathing and get up and move.

You and me both sis. I’m still trying to plunge my self esteem back from down the toilet hole.

Something similar happened to me last year, I happily went all out for my ex’s birthday, paid for dinner, looked like a million bucks, even shaved. and he ruined it by being totally and completely miserable and I was home without him alone on a Saturday evening in tears. Yeah fuck these guys.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
