Have you ever seen a study on % of women and men in relationships? Would you like to?

The richest among us do not have the most kids. If you became a millionaire today, you'd maybe have 1 kid. So 0 kids in poverty, and 1 in riches. This is a material desire, not the only logical conclusion to inflation.

I'll concede that social status and power are undeniable factors that improves success rate. But personality is far more debatable. I only say it is, because it assumes too much about a person when they lack relational success. A person who does not get women may not have wealth or power or fame or looks, but its a gap to say they also lack personality. There may be correlation, but I refuse to believe there's causation there. Which means that a person could achieve all that they hope to be, but…

I can concede somewhere down the line that there may be a correlation, but not a causation. I believe there exists a causation, though, but it isn't what people often tell others, and it isn't 'working on yourself'. I can stand by that for certain.

Well yes, but when one hears that someone hasn't been successful with women, it is all to often taken as an indicator that someone lacks the traits that they deem attractive, which also have to be valuable. I'm saying that the traits necessary to attract women aren't the ones people think they are. At least not entirely. Those traits aren't guarantees of one's success because they aren't what defines success. There are key functions at play that dictate whether one ever acquires a partner or not…

In some ways I agree. The beholder must assess your value and deem it worthy or not. However, it is a strange notion to allow your self value be determined by others. What you deem valuable becomes useless then, and you are nothing more than a puppet dressing up to impress his owners. That aside, the sexual marketplace you describe does not assess your value in any other sense: as in, your mother does not dislike you because of your lack of sexual prowess, neither does your friends or company. T…

I don't hold such a deterministic view of reality, and even if it were true, it doesn't change much in terms of our actions anyway. Whether we're on the railroad track or making our own decisions, ultimately, what happens is going to happen. Saying we're on the rails makes it just seem like effort is useless, though (as you even mention). I wouldn't tell anyone to think that way. So from a pragmatic view, it doesn't benefit anyone to recognize this 'truth' of yours, even if it was the case. It's…

I neither blamed women for the problem nor attributed success solely to luck. A lot of our disposition is luck based, true, and someday I'd like to help remedy that in my line of work (although people fight me on that). I also mentioned one's ability to seduce women with great strategy (naturally or otherwise), and picking your audiences well. I'm saying that the laziest, unambitious, and least kind/funny people can get in a relationship, just as a someone the opposite. The factors that lead to …

Well, that's a more understandable point of view. There are plenty of factors at play. I just believe what people tend to find attractive are very subjective and culturally dependent. Intelligence in a society that values strength won't garner you women. Cleverness in a society of honor and integrity won't win you favors, and the perfect human that lives in the shadows could accomplish great things without ever having a woman bat an eye. The improve yourself mantra only goes to denigrate those w…

You can say someone's value is already super low, but this is just the conclusion of correlating the two so tightly. I find the characteristics regarding attracting a human part different from those that provide success and value from self improvement, such as seduction and maximizing demographic advantages, or deep human connection from a person who happened to be very similar to you. But that's fine. I'll do all that I can in this world to acquire as much 'value' as possible. If I die without …

No. You've removed or misunderstood the context surrounding the statements. I'll try to set it up differently: People like people with the traits I mentioned if possessing traits >> Attract women else: >> remain single But if the traits are also simultaneously what makes someone valuable, then you can say: if attract women >>valuable else: >>useless I don't equate them. I don't believe the traits that are valuable in humans are always, or even often, valuable in relationship acquisition the way …

Yeah, this is where I fight. I firmly believe you can be the most rich, fit, intelligent and driven man on the planet without success with women. Demographics, proper intent, and seduction skills are far more important how I see things. I can concede that social status may be a major multiplier as well. But my intelligence, build, or money has never gotten a girl interested in me. It could, but not with the girls I've spoken to. My point is that its very beholden to the person you're going after…

I used luck as a general term, but yes: gender ratios matter. Where you reside matters. But it can go to say that someone without those qualities can still do fine in a different environment. I merely wanted people to get away from the idea that you've been failing to be awesome, and moreso you've been failing to place yourself in environments and with seductive skills to attract the women that would enjoy the traits you do have. Basically, get away from the 'work on yourself' stupidity. Oh, and…

I went from 130 to 155 of muscle at 5'7". The only thing that changed was that people called me a gym nut for awhile. The girls I've been around hasn't cared about my fitness level, but I'm sure there are those that do. Either way, its granted me zero opportunities. I have a feeling I'd need to do more for it to matter (find an audience that cares about that sort of thing and accentuate those qualities well within it). In the opposite case, I'd have to seek women that don't care about my fitness…

No, I'm saying there's no correlation.

It depends on what you think can be brought to a relationship. If what can be considered attractive is subjective, then you would offer nothing to one and something to another, and in that case, isn't worse or better, but different. If you are to suggest there are qualities everyone enjoys and is valued in every relationship, then you suggest those with 'nothing to offer' have no positive/valued qualities. A human with no positive qualities is undeniably worse than one who does possess them. I k…

Reading back, I believe I was a bit frustrated when I wrote my comments. You're right when you say that everyone has to always be working toward their better selves. People say you should work on you for you, but I mean that as straightforwardly as I can, because I don't believe it is necessarily a marker of initial attraction. If you want to atract women, you have to work on escalation, understand women's cues and flirting as a whole. Lacking that doesn't mean you lack confidence maturity or an…

Maybe I will have an easier time. But that "Just keep at it" stuff is serious cope. I merely mean to say that whenever people bring up the 'work on yourself' nonsense, they suggest, whether they mean to or not, that you as you currently are isn't worth dating. And that how you were raised or born was insufficient, and you must make up the difference with applied effort. Its an inherent inequality. It suggests an inferiority to those who have relational success when you tie it to valuable human t…

It baffles me that I'm supposed to believe I've become so far behind that I need to 'work on myself' more and more until I'm remotely close to the guy who's been banging and getting relationships since he was 16. How many travels, mental health and emotional intelligence, experiences, and career accomplishments could a 18-21 yo truly have? Please do tell me. Why am I to believe I'm worse than them?

You may be right. I've been meaning to go clothes shopping. My parents grew up in an era and area where oversized and baggy clothes were king. I don't think that trend benefits me much. Never liked it. I can buy my own clothes now, and so I just need to find a style that will fit me. I just really don't know what will though. And yeah, looking in the mirror and looking nice is great. But I mostly want strength without the size, looks aside.

I was surprised at first, but not perplexed. I imagine it has to do with confirmation biases. More in shape = More women. I don't fit that mold quite yet. There's clearly other factors at play, but nuance isn't the aim of these posts.

I've been exercising for about a year, 5'7 150lb. Used to be 130 and gained a good amount of muscle. Not where I want to be though, since I wasn't dieting efficiently or as consistent as I'd like. Started skinny and has ended fairly lean. I have noticed exactly 0 benefits when engaging with women, and my social groups see me as the 'exercise guy'. The women I've asked about the subject say muscles aren't considered (how often do women even get to see one's 6 pack?). I've lossed more than I've ga…

If they're legal, any, as others have said. It's more about how you treat the person and perhaps their individual maturity. Nobody has ever complained about a much older partner that treated them as equals, respected boundaries, enjoyed being around, and was honest in their actions and words.

This actually seems interesting. I don't have much skin in the game, but I'd like to see how this goes. Make a post or something!
