If that complement came out of nowhere it would be way more awkward if I touch her shoulder or small of her back casually. I could see throwing out a complement like that if she was giving me positive signs already, and I would choose a different complement than the one you did - your complement literally sounds like putting her on a pedestal. Im new to TRP I am just speaking from common sense here.

Well this is what I plan on doing. I just don’t expect it to get that far right away, but I do plan on coming on relatively strong. It’s confusing now because you are saying push for sex while another guy said don’t touch her?

Yes I’ve actually thought about this a decent amount, there’s no point prolonging a friendship where I am going to be attracted to her, it’s just unhealthy. If it gets to a situation where she re-friendzones me I’m not going to torture myself by hanging out with her. But of course, it’s worth one last shot on my part.

The idea is just to show that I am interested in other girls, which I am. I would check out a girl in front of a guy friend, right? So I don’t see this as manipulative or trying to just make her jealous.

Well, this conflicts with all other advice I heard. I think the point of the touching isn’t to escalate to us having sex lol, if that even happens (which I don’t expect it will) it would take time. It’s more just to show that I’m comfortable touching her, it shows confidence, and I will be perceived as more dominant. I won’t be even going in for a kiss any time soon. Appreciate the insight though, I’ll keep it in mind.

Thanks for the tips. Checking out other girls in front of her seems especially easy to do, I will certainly give that a shot.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I am inexperienced, unfortunately there aren't a lot of girls in my social circles (I am a Software Engineering student in college, most engineering clubs are mostly guys unfortunately). I'm definitely an introvert, but one thing I have thought about trying is to just sit with random people who are eating alone at lunch every day at the dining centers. I would sit with guys at first just to get used to talking to new people at random, then move on to girls. A YouTuber…

Thanks, seems like I have the right idea. A few things I forgot to mention were that she was actually talking to another guy from her hometown when I was interested in her initially, and also I was interested in / asked out one of her friends for a bit while in the friendzone (so this was not just 6 months of me crushing on her and orbiting, most of the time we were hanging out was actually as friends, and she knows I am interested in other girls). I should've mentioned this in the post body to …

makes you think you're going to escape the friendzone here? First of all I am not an orbiter like I said. I didn't really care about getting with her after she initially friendzoned me, but I sort of just became interested in her again randomly. I understand it's hard to escape the friendzone, I don't expect to. But why not give it a shot? You're essentially saying don't bother trying? You seem like you are implying it is impossible to escape the friendzone. I know it's a tricky thing, that's wh…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
