I love this so much! I feel like we could all benefit from more examples of exceptional behavior. My partner really stood up in a HV way during a family vacation. A family member of mine isn’t well, and we witnessed a spell of this while on vacation. Without asking or assuming, he helped this family member become comfortable. Helped organize an at home dinner so they could participate, and attended to the needs of all of those people who mean the world to me. I think it was after seeing someone …

My boyfriend took time off of work, drove across state lines to stay in the same hotel as me during a work trip (but got his own room so I’d have space) just because I mentioned how stressful my new role was and how isolated I felt. So yes, if they want to they absolutely will.

Ive found I’ve tended to avoid spaces like that, primarily to your point of the weird white worshipping. All of my relationships have been interracial, and my family is accepting of it, so that may have filled the need for support when I get pushback in the day to day. Those groups also seemed to have a majority of women whose personalities were their relationships, which is a massive pet peeve and fear of mine. To just diminish all that makes one amazing into something as commonplace as a relat…

He’s doing all of those things, to his credit. He comes over 9/10, and the last time I was there was spontaneous and my idea. He has offered to confront him regularly and talk to his landlord about the situation. I have a prior history of abusive relationships and situations like these cripple me and I have residual issues of trying to keep the peace, which I’m working on. Any feedback or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I’m on the brunt end of this right now. My boyfriend lives above someone who apparently had deep feelings for me and has engaged in verbal abuse against me, is actively trying to somehow ban me from being at my boyfriend’s place, and waits to hear when I leave to try to ambush me. It’s fucking terrifying. And what’s worse is the amount of coddling this over grown man child is getting. It’s why I don’t have male friends. You can’t even be nice to these assholes without them taking that kindness a…

Thank you! And I’m really glad you pointed that out because that’s so important to keep in mind ☺️

That’s honestly a great point! I can totally see how it comes across that way. I think in this I was trying to highlight his positives compared to the men from before. But I am still so so focused on myself, and understand that he’s human and flawed. And if he pulls any bs, or starts to gaslight/manipulate, I’m 200% ready to walk, because I’m my first priority

Thank you so much! It’s been a lot of growing/learning but I’m glad I finally got my head out of the sand ☺️☺️

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
