What was their motive?

Yep, the guy who beat him to death should be held responsible for his actions.

I completely disagree with you, then, that your definition of mutilation cannot be beneficial.

Ok, so then many kinds of surgery, amputations, tattoos, and even breast implants would fit your definition of mutilation, which I would disagree with in this context.

Is it mutilation if he chose to have the procedure?

"I had issues with a tight foreskin," he eventually wrote in his final email, "but from my late teens it created issues in the bedroom as it meant my foreskin would not retract over the glans as intended which caused some awkward moments." Seems like a small part of a larger e-mail, and certainly does not seem like that is the reason that he actually chose to commit suicide.

Is that what the article says?

It might be worth noting that for all of those things you mention, I would say the same thing: "they(the media, mostly) pick this reason for suicide?"

I read the headline and thought, "of all the reasons this guy could have committed suicide, they pick this one?"

If it was the other way round the headline would of been one word in big letters RAPE! Either I'm being whooshed or I completely disagree that the headline "would of been one word in big letters RAPE!"

The only way to be equal is for men to take care of the crying baby.. They want this.

It's amazing how much I hear on this sub and others that rings "that's Jordan Peterson!" Yet these subs seem to resist any association with him for whatever reason.

I don't take this as being "feminism or concerned exclusively with a female point of view," which I thought was the definition of gynocentrism.

I agree he does seem kinda pussywhipped, especially for his time! I feel that he says what women need to hear though for doing what they were doing. One of the things that lead us into this feminist mess is womans' perception that they weren't appreciated. I think a little cultivation of this notion on the part of the men would have gone a long way.

It wasn't too long ago that women were a fairy tale compared to what they are today. My mom is an example.

They weren't "treated like trash," and his statement shows evidence of the sentiment at the time. I would be interested in what he had to say in the 1990s.. edit: ahh, I see where I misread you: you say "single mothers," not "mothers" which I didn't catch the first time.

I once dated a girl who I would have unprotected sex with because she said she was taking birth control. It came out later that she only started taking it after having said that.. So the (controversial, apparently?) question is: are men all supposed to wear condoms at all times if they are unsure about wanting to have a baby? Have you ever actually had sex? I can't even cum with a condom on, personally. What is our choice at all in anything sexual if we can't hold them to their word?

I agree that she won’t be punished nearly enough to fit the crime. That’s why women do this. There is often literally no downside for them and plenty upside enough.

I pay for dates because it is what I was raised to do, so I hope I’m not ruining it for any of you. The one time I absolutely didn’t like the girl (the way she looked, which she misrepresented on a dating site, and definitely her personality) I asked her to pay her share when the check came. She said she didn’t bring any money. So, quite literally, the only time I expected equality, I was rebuffed. I’m disillusioned by it all now. I try to do well to others, but just when you think people—women—…

There can literally be no reasonable evidence of pre-meditation, or deliberation which is impossible in a case that involves a person pursuing allegations or legal judgement against someone else.

Sure, but I think if you're prone to actual temporary insanity, it would be more likely, not less likely, that it would happen again. In this case, there are multiple obvious reasons why she would have done this, regardless of whether or not it was justified(it wasn't), and there's no way the judge would entertain an insanity defense.

I don't think that the "temporary insanity" defense works how you think it works. There is almost no possible way that defense would work in a case like this.

Police and prosecution could pursue her if they wish, but they haven't even filed CHARGES, from what I can find.. And criminal prosecution lawyers would be different, and a completely separate case.

It doesn’t matter if you disagree with it or not, it’s true. I am explicitly stating what I’m actually experiencing, you cannot tell me that I am not experiencing these things. For instance, I am much less likely to invite a woman home to my place after a night out, even when they say they want to watch a movie after hours with me. Point is, I would be far more uninhibited sexually if it weren’t for the malevolent mess that the wrong woman can easily create in my life when she decides I wronged …

That's simply not the case though. It sounds like you may be projecting. I'm not blaming anybody (or everybody is to blame). I call it like I see it, and the way I see it is that it's an issue with our culture, not me in particular. I'm all for personal accountability, but how am I to personally "rise above" without endangering myself?

I've never gotten falsely accused of any sexual act by any woman as far as I know. I am very careful and afraid because of the possibility though, which is debilitating to my sexual life and I feel as though it is stripping me of some of my masculinity.

And further, if it is a good thing, why aren't men being targeted and encouraged to join predominantly female fields. The humanities is overwhelmingly and increasingly female (and/or gay). Who's calling for "diversification" there?

I've lived a good part of my life studying in two predominantly male fields. CS and Philosophy. There was a huge push my freshman year to recruit women in CS. There was no such push for men or minorities. 5 females were in my first class. Four of them dropped out within the first year. There was one girl who graduated in CS for my graduation ceremony, and she came from a different school senior year.. Out of a CS class of over 100. Philosphy was a similar phenom but not as pronounced. I think it…
