That was a really interesting anecdote. Thanks!

As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked “for help” into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim. Fuck. this. Stop helping people because one in a million times you'll come across a serial killer?

I can't figure out what statement this is supposed to be making.

While young men do deal with suicide and incarceration, as women do, these issues are not the result of feminism or victories for the women’s movement, and it is disingenuous for them to claim as such. Oh the irony. If feminist groups stop us from talking about these issues with militant protests, then feminism IS part of the problem, isn't it? Claiming that incest could be seen as a positive thing if women weren’t socialized into seeing themselves as victims, I see that claim made every day her…

Doesn't this girl have the right to choose whether or not to take a drug in the presence of the guy? Doesn't she have the ability and responsibility to know what the effects of the drug are? How is this possibly rape, unless he "drugs" her secretly.

Ya but fucked up shit =/= rape

As long as both parties understand the drugs they are taking, and take them freely, it would be really unfair to suggest one person is taking advantage of the other. Unless one person can tell that the other is acting extremely intoxicated and would likely regret the decision, of course.

Ugh... some of these are pretty bad. Don’t demand that those you are supporting produce proof of the inequality they are working to resist. Do recognize that the shield of your privilege may blind you to the experience of others of injustice. Don’t offer up your relationship with a member of the marginalized group as evidence of your understanding. Do be open to learning and expanding your consciousness by listening more and talking less. These are tips for how to be a good cult member. Think of…

That's not exactly a good counter argument. Men and women should be able to poison themselves and not get raped. Should be. Obviously the world doesn't present the sexes with symmetrical privileges or dangers.

Wow, I read some of that article before and never made it to the end because I found it so outrageous.

"One can only attend these events if they're willing to passively accept harm to their person? " Absolutely. The public will not see your intentions, they will infer them from ten seconds of the most unflattering selection of your actions. If your response isn't ghandi, you're the villain. Also "some people just need their ass kicked one good time to learn respect for others." doesn't sound at all like "You don't need to injure them to fight back either."

I just noticed this subreddit. I've never seen it before.

Fighting back is usually for appearances. Running away is the safest option. But for the sake of argument, lets talk about a protest situation specifically. Someone assaulting you won't be intent on causing serious bodily harm. They will be specifically trying to provoke you. It may involve minor bruising cutting. Someone might throw something at you and unintentionally hurt you more than expected. They want you to fight back to justify their initial attack. If you do, the public will see them a…

I think its obvious their movement is going to self destruct. While the general public is suspicious of men, tracking people down to presumably shame them for having opinions is pretty messed up.

Public events don't follow bar fight rules. If you are violent at all, even if you are justified, you lose. We all lose. If a police officer is beating you up and you resist at all, you won't get any public sympathy because most people will only see the part where you fight back. Same goes for something like this. The best option would be to come armed with cameras and capture the aggressor's violence.

Someone should do an experiment and put a "ladies parking only" sign up and a "mens parking only" sign up, and see which one gets more complaints

"There are still more appropriate places for amateur rape prevention tipstering and lecturing about drug and alcohol use after the fact." What does 'after the fact' mean? After the fact for one person is before the fact for anyone who hasn't been victimized.

Since there's so much proof, kindly provide a link to a single study that shows that women like being housewives, or aren't interested in STEM fields, due to biology.

Isn't being persuasive just being emotionally or socially coercive? Does the definition of coercion require that the target feel coerced? Couldn't one set of behaviours very easily make one person feel coerced, while making another person feel simply persuaded? How is the person doing the persuading/coercing to know what the target is experiencing if they can't take what they say at face value?

"No confusion there, I know shes 100% happy with whats going on." Unless you believe that some level of coercion and entitlement on the part of a man is extremely erotic. Lots of people do. In fact, I expect the people who wait for explicit permission to do everything get weeded out of the gene pool pretty fast. Women decide what attitudes in men they like by who they sleep with. Men's attitudes are calibrated.

I misread the part I quoted. I read the first half of your post and quoted you without realizing you used 'gender' instead of 'gender roles' in that sentence. It doesn't really matter if your gender is determined genetically. Gender =/= gender roles. Gender roles are determined by the prevailing culture, and culture is not genetically encoded.

"Your response should be equally disrespectful, hateful and shaming of all women as shit." That's backwards. People not engrossed in this debate do not have an immediate emotional reaction to it. Hate filled writing automatically makes people dislike your cause, no matter how justified.

"All reputable science proves that nature creates gender, and nurture exists only in feminist opinion." Do you have sources for your extraordinary claim?
