I've never met a rational feminist

I want to create a film that truly communicates the fear and paranoia that can build, and hopefully it'll start a conversation as to why that fear is there, who and what is causing it? This is one of the things that is so infuriating about feminists. You don't need to make a fucking film about being scared about walking alone at night! Everyone - EV.ER.Y.ONE - knows that fear. This isn't a fear that is exclusive to women.

Likely has more to do with being a government job and less to do with her being a woman.

She didn't even understand my point. I tried several way of explaining it to her and she still couldn't get it. It is quite possible that she was just dense. It is quite more likely that she was being intentionally obtuse and had no desire whatsoever to actually get your point.

I think there are a lot of false allegations made out of shame or as a way of masking what really happened and to avoid taking personal responsibility. I don't disagree with that, but I think that when faced with those situations, women frequently aren't thinking "I'm going to fuck up this guy's life and say he raped me when he didn't". Instead they're thinking "yeah, if I jump through enough mental gymnastics, that could be considered rape, so I was raped".
/r/MensRights07/08/15 02:16 PM

Yeah. If you're in favor of men's rights then you're going to be welcome. But remember, it is a movement about men's rights. We're not going to spend a lot of time dealing with issues exclusive to gay/bi men. You've got other activist groups for that.

I've got no statistics to back it up, but in my opinion, the far-and-away #1 reason that women make false accusations - likely accounting for 90%+ of all false accusations - is because they actually think they were raped. They think this because feminism teaches them to think it. If a woman today has any regrets whatsoever about any sexual encounter at any point in time - even years after the encounter - feminism tells them "that is rape". After all, if they don't really want to have sex, but th…

Then he is likely 70ish years old as well and should be either retired already or looking to retire. As a couple, they should have been saving money throughout their marriage and that money should have been evenly split in the divorce. So you've got 2 individuals with an equal net worth. There is no reason that one should have to forego retirement to continue to support the other one who has already been retired for 40 years.

That would be unfair for the case for long term marriages. Where one spouse has forgone developing their professional life in favor for stay at home So let me get this straight: A guy is married to some woman for 20 years. For the last 18 of those years, he's worked his ass off supporting her while she chose not to work and simply live off his labor. With all the free time on her hands, she ends up fucking the pool boy. They get divorced and he's required to continue to support her with his labo…

Can this sub provide evidence to counter this? In a capitalist society, business owners would choose to pay 4%-6% less money to obtain the same work if that costs savings was possible. We don't see business owners firing men and hiring women to replace them and 94%-96% of the man's salary. The evidence that no wage gap exists is that the free market hasn't taken advantage of the wage gap. They haven't taken advantage of it, because it isn't available to take advantage of.

I asked a test question: Can a really drunk person give consent? “My answer to that is no,” he said. He was right. “Consent cannot be given when a person is incapacitated.” Well. I'm glad that the NY Times writer is also an attorney, judge and jury who was able to independently determine that "really drunk" people are "incapacitated". “It wasn’t something we’d agreed upon,” she said. “It wasn’t sexy.” She told him to stop, she said, and tried to push him away, and that’s when “he covered my mout…

But if a girl really wanted to have sex with you, she wouldn't regret it later. And if she doesn't really want to have sex with you, how can her consent be valid? Why is it so hard to just not have sex with women who aren't enthusiastically consenting? /s

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm not in favor of throwing guys in jail for having consensual sex with 16 year old girls. The ideal situation is to decriminalize consensual sex. But if we aren't going to do that, and if the law is going to say that consensual sex with a 16 year old is illegal, then that law needs to be applied the same regardless of the genders of the victims. That's simple "equal protection" under the US Constitution.

Are there any sane and relevant feminists out there making constructive, helpful arguments/progress for women? Like what? What progress is left to be made for women (in America and other developed countries)? Legally, women are at equal footing with men at worst and have additional legal rights that men don't have. What exactly would someone working on "progress for women" be trying to achieve?

I think the feminist blogger had the right idea, but approached it wrong. If a man who commits suicide is either in a relationship, or has been married or had children, then his labor is likely supporting a woman. When he commits suicide, that support (read: money) goes away. And since most life insurance policies won't pay out on a suicide, how is that woman suppose to support herself? Sure, the man is dead, but that only affects him for the brief moment that the suicide occurs. The woman is af…

It never even entered into their minds that a man would rape a woman and then try to sue for custody. Probably because of rape culture.
/r/MensRights30/06/15 02:01 PM

women have to fight for custody against a rapist that fathered the baby. I could be wrong, but I can't imagine that feminists are talking about convicted rapists. I just can't imagine that producing a child from rape doesn't pretty much legal eliminate your parental rights. So I think they are actually talking about accused rapists. As in, I had 4 beers before I consented to sex and I got pregnant and now my rapist wants shared custody of my child.

Is that stat right? I thought that it was 3% of alimony recipients are men. Since there are many divorces without alimony to either party, I would think that far less than 3% of divorced men receive alimony.

United States. They do according to law The law is all that matters. Feminists try to cure perceived social inequalities against women by getting laws passed that create legal inequalities against men. How do you expect to achieve equality by creating inequality?

Backed up when I gave a definition of feminism (women face structural bullshit). I don't advocate for laws that favour women over men. You sit by silently when other self-described feminists, and (more importantly) leading feminist and feminist organizations, advocate for those laws. So, yes, my statement was wrong in lumping all (self-described) feminists together and saying that they advocate for anything. That's a lot of typing without saying anything other than "yeah, those are some tricky questions and different feminists approach them differently". Hey there. I'm a feminist. I don't advocate for laws that favour women over men. I don't cry "sexism" at attempts to eliminate discriminatory laws. Anyone can call themselves anything they want. I include unequal enforcement of laws in the "Feminist continue to advocate for laws that favor women over men and cry "sexism" at any attempt to eliminate those discriminatory laws". Take alimony reform, for example. Feminist leaders and organizations (NOW) oppose any reforms to alimony laws. Sure, the laws are written gender neutral, but 97% of alimony recipients are women. Feminists know that alimony laws benefit women at the expense of men.

You can't really protect yourself from false-accusations in hookup situations. The best option is to just avoid hookups. Don't have sex with a woman you haven't known for at least 3-6 months. Don't ever have sex with a woman who has been drinking or doing drugs in the past 8-12 hours. Ideally, only have sex in a committed relationship Obviously none of those are foolproof. There is nothing foolproof. Even abstaining from sex all together isn't going to absolutely prevent a false accusation. But …

This is probably victim blaming, but let me get this straight: You intentionally had drunken sex with a self-described feminazi? What the hell did you think was going to happen? As others have said, you need to get a lawyer. This chick is not going to quit because she 100% believes that you raped her.
