It's normal for the woman to take home more of the man's paycheck than he does when children are involved. This was more than half of my take-home as well, and the court ordered for me to pay the mortgage until we could sell the house while she lived in her parents' basement.

I grew up mormon (not mormon anymore) where they pound getting married young and fast into your head from the day you are born. We had been married five years with 2 kids when we got divorced. She had worked a total of 3 weeks the entire marriage. In addition to the stock, she also got half the house and other assets, plus $4,000/month combined alimony and child support. Just answered before seeing your comment but I'll paste it again- She won my investments in the divorce 3 years ago. But she never bothered to create a brokerage account to hold them because she literally had no need for them while cashing in on alimony living in her parents' basement. I was starting to secretly hope I could keep my hard earned investments until just barely she randomly handed me the transfer form. And now they're gone. That image is a screen of my account the day she stole them…
