The same kind of story seems to pop up every few months. Basically the judge rules that because someone has so many things going for them in life that giving them the standard punishment would disproportionately affect them compared to someone who has a lot less to lose.

I used to go to a local gay bar with my lesbian friend quite often (I'm straight but she didn't like to go alone). Every fucking weekend there was a obnoxious fucking bachelorette party with their penis straws and whatnot doing all the ridiculous shit mentioned in the article. I couldn't believe they felt comfortable doing this. I should mention this was back in the day when gay marriage was illegal, so they were just rubbing that fact in everyone's faces.

Look at the comment count vs how many comments there actually are. Before I posted this it said there were 4 comments but only 3 appear. This can mean that someone commented but is "shadowbanned." If you are shadowbanned you think you are commenting as normal but nothing you comment appears to anyone else. But I've also heard that this can be a result of bots posting comments, so this might not always be true. Actually now that I'm thinking about this I think I remember Reddit removing the shado…

But I'll damn well blame victims that complain about lack of rapists being brought up on charges when less than half are ever reported. It's frustrating that this happens, but I have a really hard time blaming the victims when we have a history of favoring men and shaming women in these situations. That may not be the case everywhere, but we do still see it happen. That kind of shit needs to stop, and I think the Men's Rights movement should be among the ranks of those pushing for this change.
