I've seen 6 orthopedists, 2 neurologists, 5 physiotherapists and 2 osteopaths over a period of roughly 5 years.

The movement of one of my arms is restricted (can't be elevated higher than 90 degrees). I've been to many doctors and physiotherapists and the working theory is that the nerve has been permanently damaged that controls the muscle that moves the scapula.

My gut says: Yes. At least if we are talking about the "church girl" type. Shy, very sheltered up-bringing etc. Not sure if there are any IOIs for those types. I'd recommend approaching them / asking them out with out those IOIs.

I very much like the style of your post. I've recently gotten married and - inevitably - we haven gotten a couple of those "Christian" books about how to live a marriage. Some of them a written quite nicely, something RP stuff often lacks. I imagine RP (influenced) books will have become at one point similiar to those books: An easy, pleasant read.

If you have to tell her that your are a Christian to get them at ease your dating the wrong girls. Why? Because a principled Christian girl wouldn't go out with a non-Christian. So if a Christian girl goes out with you although she doesn't know that you are a Christian: Next her, because she didn't qualify.

15 Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well. 16 Should your springs overflow in the streets, your streams of water in the public squares? 17 Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers. 18 May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. 19 A loving doe, a graceful deer— may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be intoxicated with her love. I do think you were right in one regard: Sex is about procreation, but that isn't it's only purpose. However, sex without beeing open for children is not how god has designed us, therefor we ignore / rebel against god's will if we try to prevent new life.

I agree 100% with you that her motivation will depend to a substantial extent on whether there is a purpose / mission. I've edited my post to make this more clear. Thanks!

I'll take a look into it but I doubt he has the "Christian sex ed" part my fiancee is looking for.

I'd also add that screening should (in depth at a later stage) include her family and friends. A broken home, bad role models, nutjob siblings, father complex etc. is something to take into consideration. Same thing with friends: How long has she had them (=is she able to sustain healthy relationships over time?), what kind of people are they, what kind of influence will they be and how does she behave around her.

Thanks! Your perspective matches what I gathered from flying through it. (I might add that I found it a bit wired that he suggest vaginal stretching exercises prior to marriage for virigns. I guess that's a doctor's view on how to avoid problems some of his patients had...) I did like the chapter about "The Perfect Wife", though. Do you have a another book recommendation for this situation (virgins wants to read stuff prior to first sex.)?

Exactly. If kissing her would have been strange I obviously might have reconsidered. Another thing that was important to me was not to spoil her for other Christians, should I decide against her. She hadn't kissed anyone at this point... First kiss is not as important as first sex, but there still is an importance when we are talking about Christian girls with absolutely no experience. I like to think that it also sort of made me the price. I might also add that she actually initiated the hand h…

Maybe I'm not familiar with the term kino, but from my understanding of kino it does not so much refer to kissing, holding hands etc. but to non-sexual touching (grabing her arm when jaywalking, playfully taking her arm away from one's popcorn etc.). In regard to holding hands and kissing: I waited with kissing until the point I was almost certain I would marry her. It helped me keeping my cool while deciding whether she waas good enough. It also made her chase me (noticed how she waited for the…

Waiting until 30 might be advisable in a non-christian world where there is a) hook-ups b) masturbation and c) an almost infinite number of girls to which there is easy access. At least where I'm from it gets harder to meet (Christian) women the older you get. In addition there are just not as many Christian girls, meaning there is much more "luck" involved (Mind game: Compare how much "new" Christian girls you could meet each month compared to how many "worldly" girls you could meet in one mont…

Very practical insights, thanks! The better plan is for the man simply to initiate with her as often as he wants and to develop a solid frame if/when she rejects him. Can you elaborate a bit more on "develop a solid frame if/when she rejects him"? Another question: To initiate is a very broad term. What "speed" for "escalating" would you recommend? Also: Physical and/or also verbal?

Can you perhaps elaborate on why initiating sex is the men's concern both from a RP and a Christian perspective? (I guess I'm asking myself to what extent the man should await his wife's desire.)

Let me first start off bei saying thank you for all the valuable comments and advice! I've given it some thought (and prayers) and hadn't come to a conclusion, although i was leaning towards not confronting her with it. The issue got settled for me when we she talked about a young married couple from her parish. Both of them grew up there and seemed solid Christians, till the husband denounced his faith publicly after a couple of years. She also mentioned another case in which the engaged man ca…

I like the concept of beeing "laid back" and waiting for her to steer the conversation. I do however have my doughts about the "Explain" out of DEER. I do see that a man should not "explain himself", but explaining something to her seems to be another story. Or to ask more practical: If she asks me why i didn't tell her about it before we got married, how should i respond? STFU woman? Say nothing? It seems to me that i would have to explain at this point why it seemed wiser not to confront her w…

I'm pretty sure she is, since the bible is pretty clear about it and she has taken it (very) serious on all other topics, including submission. I'm going to watch Biblical Portrait of Marriage by Bruce Wilkinson ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYssXez-qdg ) which is crystal clear and biblical, if you ask me. But I certainly appreciate comments / criticism regarding the video.

Thank you very much for your lengthy reply. I have covered all these topics with her in length and we were on the same page on all of the issues, except for the topic of sex. We are due to watch a series on that and do the complimentary booklet.

It seems to me that the answer depends on whether there is intellectual property. If there is, then piracy is theft. If there isn't, your good. At first glance I don't see any reason why let's say a movie should be treated differently as let's say bananas. Afterall, someone spend resources in order to grow and harvest bananas and someone spend resources to film and cut a movie. But i haven't done any research on it, to be honest. Whats your take on it?

a) No one said it was easy / risk free to serve. b) Think about the kids that are not going to get the education they otherwise would. c) Perhaps you can change the class setting so there is always another adult with you.

Several random thoughts: 1) If you want something special, you gotta be willing to go the extra mile. It's a general principle that applys here as well: You need to search harder for a woman than everyone else, but (!) you are also going to get more than everybody else. So i guess it's actually just. Or to look at it from an economics perspective: You might be looking at more "on boarding costs" but you have have a much lower divorce risk and likely a higher marriage quality. That is obviously a…

In addition: This gave her a vast experience to compare your manliness, in this case your endurance, strength etc, to men that faced far worse situations. You might have just come up short against them.

Here is my take: The bible commands the wife to be a helper and to respect the husband. However i don't know of a passage that commands her to be very affectionate while helping you. My experience - which stems from my non-christian days - is that women will care for you affectionately when they have the hots for you. I've had female friends coming over, cooking and bringing (btw: If she feels that you have a man cold aka beeing a pussy, this might have a negative effect on her affection for you…

Nothing? Is that something you guys don't do or how come there are so few replys? FYI: I ended up taking a "reading plan" out of the YouVersion bible app. I read the bible verse and the devotion outloud, stated my thoughts and talked to her about it. 45 minutes went by surprisingly fast, with three "reading plan days" covered.

Well, there is a good amount of teaching regarding marriage in first corinthians that has been the foundation of how marriage was lived back in the day (50s and before). https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%207 In some communities it still is the foundation or to put it into a RP perspective: frame.

Not sure where you get this "right" from. The man has the obligation to lead, the woman the obligation to submit. Since this obligation is given to him by god, there is not accountability towards the wife, only to god. This - of course - does not mean that it is unwise to consult with your wife. It is probably a wise choice in many occasions, just as a general would hear his officers before making a decision. It depends whether you gotta fake it or not (for new guys). I believe that many men have a natural tendency towards agressive behaviour. They just don't let it out because they have been told that it is bad to do so. And frankly, your article seems to make the same point.

CH writes: "Unpredictability and volatility are male attractiveness traits, in measured doses. (Too much of either and she’ll begin to devalue you as someone who has no state control.) Losing your cool — as long as you do it infrequently — will keep a woman on her toes and her hamster at full throttle, which translates to long-lasting desire for your attention and love." https://heartiste.wordpress.com/2011/10/16/the-benefit-of-losing-your-cool-sometimes/

After all, now that you appropriately realize your marriage isn't your purpose in life, it's time to get going on what you were really here for all along anyway. In pursuing your mission, you should be allocating all of your resources toward matters that advance that mission. I agree with those parts. Apart from that I don't get why Romans 1 does justify what you are proposing. Perhaps you could elaborate.

(btw: They can also be found on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYssXez-qdg&list=PLY23PoCP4_jswRofS15ld0hr_SSGjAk92&index=9 ) I started watching the episode about sex and it seems pretty solid and straight forward (What should she do if she feels tired? Well: "Your body if for your spouse's pleasure." / I also liked his blunt advice for husbands to resist temptations while on business trips: "Always have sex before leaving.")

I really liked the thought, that "love your wifes" may unequals "feels loved". Thanks for the advice regarding "Love & Respect". I'll take a thorough look into the book. I can't disqualify the book based on someone's opinion on reddit ;) I also like your advise to stick to the bible. So I guess I'll start by gathering every verse in the NT regarding marriage, sex roles and the like and then go through it with her.

I like the quote from A. Kay in MMSLP. That's how I see it as well. I also like the idea to read to separate books. It is in sync with the idea that man and woman have different roles and that the man is the (spiritual) leader. But: Do you guys have suggestions that are christian books an focus on the biblical principal of marriage? The Surrendered Wife doesn't seem to fit this criterion , although it looks good an I will certainly keep it in mind.

Thanks, thats solid general advice. The thing is I do think it makes sense to read books that prepare you for something you've no or little experience with. Provided there is a book that actually helps rather than install blue pill / feminist ideology.
