Ironic how you think the same way, just reverse the genders. It's satire.

A hysterecomy is a very risky procedure and is usually implemented as a last resort. By your (failed and not medically-based) logic, a woman with a family history of Her2-agressive breast cancer will have a double masectomy "just in case". No. Shit like that just doesn't happen. A vasectomy is a reversible, non-damaging procedure. A hysterectomy puts a woman on HRT for the rest of her life and completely fucks her body chemistry. Nice try, though.

Ouchies. As much as your point hit home with me, please don't generalize. It's easy to do. We're not all "Snooki"s looking for our "Situation"s, I promise. Honestly, I think the overall responsibility that comes with having sex needs to be treated with way more respect. There should almost be a mental disclaimer: I am about to have sex, which means there is a possibility I am about to procreate. Have I taken the necessary steps to 1. eliminate this risk and 2. discuss it with my partner?

That's pretty reasonable.

I am inclined to think you are a troll. But I will indulge you, seeing as you are a bored atheist. Muddy opinion - yes! you are absolutely right. I came here to get some sort of clarification. If you've ever discussed abortion... I'm sure it's come up in your 26 or so years of existence you've noticed it's really complicated. I do think men should have legal weight. Absolutely. I'm not sure where it fits in without infringing on a woman's decision to carry a baby to term, is all. That's what I'm…

As in, the woman saying she's on BC but really isn't? If so, then she should sign something before intercourse swearing she is taking it. Because that shit is fucked. up.

And this should change, no?

And neither should men. But yes.

If you'd like to get in the semantics... I am asking what you're opinion is, as a man. By saying 'you' I am addressing the hypothetical 'you' in this hypothetical situation. As a Molecular Bio major, I know full well it takes two to tango and the woman's body, if anyone's, determines the acceptance of genetic material, and not the other way around. So yes, you make a valid point... but I think it's the context of the post which illicits my choice of words, not the man's "inherent and sole respon…

I am no expert with divorce law, but if you cheat on your spouse and the spouse chooses to file for divorce, you may as well have committed a crime cause you're sure as hell gonna pay $$$ for it like you did. Especially if you're a man or otherwise the major breadwinner. I think if there was a contractual agreement of monogamy, and that contract was breached, then that would be illegal.

I completely agree with you, which is why I am posting in r/mensrights. See my response here, please.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa buddy. Simmer down. Keep in mind that I was the one who pointed out the very same thing earlier, which is why I came to this subreddit. I ask YOU what kind of legal loophole can be constructed to avoid men having to pay child support. I think this is how it went in class today - Girl 1: "No one can infringe upon my body" Myself: "But it's okay to infringe upon the father's wallet for 18 years?" So yes, I agree with you. I thought I was clear on that. I made the edit because m…

she hasn’t insisted on a hysterectomy Could you clarify what you meant by that one?

You are right. And this was the reaction and response I got. Obviously in the situation where the man wants to keep the baby, the woman has the final say as it is her body. My question is more along the lines of the other end of things, where the man does not want anything to do with the child. I am asking if r/mensrights thinks that there should be laws protecting men in this situation, why or why not.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
