Holy shit girl, that last paragraph was too real it put my stomach in knots like I was in the last couple days of that relationship, where I could feel he was hanging on for the wrong reasons and he wanted to use me for my naivety. Once I figured that out, I felt so repulsed anytime I catch so much as a whiff of that mentality, I book it in the other direction. This is so real it makes me sick that I was playing that role and mistook it for love somehow, I feel so sorry for my past self, it's th…

Congratulations boo!! It's only up from here. The fact that you got out of that shit demonstrates that you love yourself, self compassion is massive after leaving abusive situations. I also had a hard time with this, talk to yourself like you would to your best friend. You did the best you could with the information you had at the time. Now that you know better, you'll do better!

Men who hold other men accountable are gems, I wish they were the majority. I want to be with a man who holds other men accountable because having been with the kind that do not, I've realized they don't because they do not respect women themselves on a deeper level. I personally want people who will hold me accountable and call me out on my shit, it's a two way street. That's growth and I'm not threatened by my flaws, I'm human and I want to do better. Looking back, the HVMs I'd dated were all …

Same girl! I re-read that line because as a former pickme I used to think it was my job to become someone they treat well. Now when I'm with anyone, I'm assessing how I feel around them and what I think about them, rather than the other way around. That shifts the focus away from others onto myself and it's been all the difference.

I'm also working on self acceptance and letting go fully of all the deceit and abuse, so a part of it is coming to terms with my own role in allowing the pollution. It's good to see other women taking ownership of their role, it's empowering

Omg same! Although I don't consider it love because he handled himself so poorly, but also that's how he seemed to handle his entire life so that's on me for not recognizing it sooner. I think the truth was he is a self serving turd and I was a means to an end, and even if he DID love me, yuck who wants that abusive shit. I wouldn't go near that shit with a 100 ft pole.

I'm learning to do that now, do you have any tips/advice with regards to self discovery? The main thing I am working on is improving my relationship with myself, I realize now that leaving the NVM was my first big step in self love.

That's funny, that's what my therapist said today when I guess I was being hard on myself. But absolutely, now I realize where I went wrong and I don't repeat my mistakes :) I'm ready for a love that comes from a place of self love.

I'm in the same boat! Are you trying anything new to boost your self esteem or anything like that? This sub has been a huge support in my healing and connecting with like minded women is the cherry on top.

This is where I want to be. I used to associate drama with love, and calmness with being bored. A sheer lack of imagination on my own part to be fair; the world's a brilliant place, having the right person next to you just makes it all the sweeter.

What source did you use for the attachment test? Literally done so many saying I'm securely attached but my last relationship had me feeling anxious. May have been the shitty partner or may have been me.

I mean it sorts itself out while you're banging, I've never had a problem. I just never take a shower on it.

Interesting! Molly's my sex drug, acid's my favorite but in all my time doing it never have I felt horny or compelled to bang. Isn't it too busy in your own head with the hallucinations to be turned on? I've always wondered what that would be like but never felt sexual on it, I'm usually having some big revelation or hanging out with nature.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
