2	Thinking about joining the Navy at 29 Yeah for anybody with any real time in it was a ripoff, but it's still okay and better than you'd get at most civilian companies from what I've heard but there are always tradeoffs. For people who fully contribute though, they're basically getting an extra 5% pay each month that'll average 10 to 15% interest over their career. Old system was 50% at 20, the new system is a 40% pension at 20 years plus matching contributions to TSP up to 5% of your base pay. 2	I still haven’t got an answer in terms of being alone and not being able to take care of yourself when you are old. I read a book called People of the Deer about the natives up in northern Canada. Whenever they got old and couldn't hunt, and they'd taught the next generation everything they could, they'd get up in the middle of a blizzard and go for a walk without their coat. 1	What's your opinion on travel? Is it worth the money? I think in a few places the hostel prices have gone up, but I did Aer Lingus for about $800 round trip, going off the average hostel price of $20/day I came in at around $420 because I crashed with some people I met for a few days. Ate breakfast and a lot of dinners at the hostels for around $100 total, and spent maybe $150 between trains, buses, and one RyanAir flight. 3	What's your opinion on travel? Is it worth the money? If you do it right, you can explore on the cheap. Use stuff like skyscanner to find cheap flights and stay in hostels. Sometimes you meet chill people there but worst case you have a roof and a place to crash at around 15 to 20 dollars a day in a lot of places. A few years ago I took almost a month off of work to roam around Ireland and Scotland and maybe spent $2000 including flights and beer. 1	Does anyone find society nowadays to be depressing? R/mgtowbooks seems kind of dead, but there was a really good book about this by Sebastian Junger, looking at the isolation and loneliness in society today. It's called Tribe and it's a super quick read if you have a day off.
