MD is Maryland (state abbreviation) and I’m not familiar with the UK system but it’s school years from 5/6-17/18 years old. As for what they spend it on, I couldn’t possibly begin to tell you. I do know they pay their teachers north of $100K. And these are small schools - maybe 4-500 total students K-12.

She can still go fuck a light socket with her $4 coffee.

But she’s working class! Let’s do some math - 5 kids x 1000 for school, 2000 a month for mortgage/rent (gotta have room for the kids) plus say another 2-300 a week for groceries (800 a month) plus other various bills so say $1500 conservatively. Assuming she isn’t setting aside anything for savings, that’s a grand total of $9300 per month after tax earnings. That’s a shade under $112K per year AFTER TAXES. The OR tax burden is just a shade behind average in the US so say 30% Fed/State/Local you’…
