I was a groomsman for my younger brother a couple years ago. Didn't bring a date, danced with the corresponding bridesmaid for a bit, had a couple drinks, went home alone. There were the obvious why didn't you get married first type questions but I shrugged them off with "I just haven't met the right one yet". Don't make a big deal of it.

It's my first driving gig and I'm still in training for my CDL but I wouldn't mind long haul shit. Perk of not being married is not being tied down. The biggest problem I see with starting a career in that now is that it'll be the first subset of trucking to be automated. The last mile type stuff I do not isn't going anywhere soon.
