That was my last option the worst case scenario. Of course I love my family to death and would not leave easily and only if I had no other choice. As it is right now, those things will never happen. My kids will be 18 in 10 years. I understand lot of things can happen between now and then. It's possible to be content with current life and plan for the worse at the same time even if that jumps the boundaries of any good taste or behavior.

Well the properties are inheritance - she can't touch them - and my parents aren't dead yet. Judge can't do squat when I take off and live in a different country especially one that doesn't extradite its citizens. It's out of jurisdiction. Exactly. When entering any contract one must consider the contract to be beneficial for all parties involved because the benefit of it keeps the contract valid. I think I was lucky to be born in well-to-do family. That said, even though my dad did pay for my college, I am not being baled out of my debt or problems. Life is complicated in almost all cases.

First of, most of the debt we have is on her name (her student loans are 100k+). I make much more than she ever will. I have properties over seas in my name she can never get. So I have to apologize. Not all things are being equal in my case...
