One thing that helped me is to have a tyrosine rich food in the first couple hours of waking. That's usually eggs or meat or tofu for most people. But I had rice with the lowly sardine. Sadly it's brain food and helped with exams. And I'm eastern European and like gross food.

I would say wait a bit, research if you can. Basically Andrew huberman has an interesting episode on controlling dopamine and one on the science of habit. Keep your body language big and open and listen. Make eye contact. You will look reserved but not shy. Forget about impressing someone. You are vetting and getting to know them to see if they are good enough for you. So listen and ask questions.

Have open body language and an upright posture. Talk less, listen more. Be calm. Be decisive. Make jokes sometimes. A little self deprecation too (some video about Ryan Reynolds shows how.)
