okay lets say your point is valid. Then it should apply to the men and boys at the party too, not just her "friends". The article basically shifts some of the blame to US non rapist men and boys for the rape of this girl, saying its our responsibility to prevent it. Why does this apply to us, but when the same principle is applied to the victims friends it is seen as victim blaming? nobody (in America at least) blames victims for rape. Everyone knows it is not their fault that some guy/girl rape…

You're right, it's technically gender neutral. But in practice the vast majority of accusations are against male defenders, so those males will see their right to legal rep basically nullified.

The rest of the article goes into some detail about the process and then states the board hearing the case will decide guilt on whether "It was more likely then not a sexual assault occurred"

We had to attend a seminar regarding the subject at my university. Basically the law says you can't consent while drunk. If you're both drunk, its whoever initiates the sexual stuff becomes the rapist. So if the girl takes off your pants and sucks you off, she's technically raping you.
