Thank you for the awesome response. I notice I've reflected on some past situations as experiences to gain knowledge from, and others (usually ones that didn't go as well) with the whole, "I don't give a shit" model. Do you have any advice for applying this type of demeanor more consistently? Also, less related, any advice on being less reactionary?

Hmm, I see what you're saying, but could you help me understand how I can avoid the appearance of qualifying to a woman in this situation, please? I'm going to law school in a downtown area, but live off campus of my undergrad school (a different institution and not downtown). Nearly everybody living here goes to the school, so, questions like, "what year are you?" and "what's your major?" will inevitably come up from people I meet. How can I answer this most effectively without sounding qualify…
