I can tell you socialized healthcare is not in any way a cure-all. I live in a country, a first world country, with socialized health care and it's a-fucking-mess. Honestly never get why people have this hard-on for socialized health care, the government isn't magical nor is it in any way immune from corruption. Also for the US Marines. Was checking if I passed the physical requirements for joining just for fun and there it is staring me in the face. While men have to do at least three chin ups. women seemingly just have to hang there for 15 sec. Depends in how you view it. For a person whose only prospect for putting food on the table is backbreaking subsistence farming or prostitution, the conditions can be vastly superior in a sweatshop and so can the wage. By no means is this ideal, especially by western standards, but it's a lot better for a lot of very poor people.
