No offense but I think you are the one missing the point and /u/1Pink1Stink is on the money here. I am aware of my oneitis which is why I specifically referred to it as such. I am also working on it as I said - I am seeing another girl and actively gaming others. My position is one where I am aware of what I am going through and working to mitigate the obstacles I'm facing, hence my request to critique my behavior. TL; DR I know what needs to be done and I am working on it. But this is not an ov…

I get that, but what I'm asking is how my interactions should be with her. Normally I would hard next a oneitis. That option is unavailable to me right now. Is continuing to ignore her except for when we have to work my only option, or should I just act like nothing ever happened, and treat her like my other co-workers? To add context, I'm usually a high energy guy in my work environment and highly engage all my coworkers. When I think about it, I feel like if I treat her this way, it will commu…

Perhaps I should have been clearer. I was looking for a critique on my interactions with her. I'm working on the plate thing. Just want to make the time I have left in this job as bearable as possible.

You literally gave me nothing in terms of advice. I asked how to avoid coming off too strong. All you could offer in response is "keep doing it if you're already fucking, stop if you're not." No actionable strategy to actually stop doing so like asked. But hey you got to show how "alpha" you are so congrats. Thanks for wasting both our time.

I have been doing a few more couple-y things as of late. In fact we had just been out doing such a thing prior to going back to her place to fuck. That she said this after our night together is what made me wonder what she was going for.

Man you're so plugged in. "A chance at something amazing." What do you think this is, a Disney movie?

Hmm. I guess I'll just keep my distance and wait and see what happens.

Agreed and that's what I've resolved to do. I just want to understand why, despite the fact that I'm not limiting myself to her, I can still feel this way. If anything I thought that I had become desensitized to these emotions once I started spinning plates regularly. Somehow it doesn't seem that's happened and it's bugging me.

Because I'm not getting the level of reciprocity that I feel is worth getting into a LTR. We're both in our 20s; I'm older. She goes to school full time; I'm working two jobs, about to start my third (I have a goal in mind that requires me to do this). We're both busy, but it always seems like I'm the one putting more effort into seeing her than she is. Not that she's not open to seeing me, it's just it feels like I'm trying harder to make things happen. The truth is, I like her. I do want her a…

In addition to my oneitis I'm seeing and sleeping with other girls. What more do you want to know?

Woah man easy with the sweeping conclusions there. You don't know what I'm doing in life nor what I'm trying to achieve. Also that's just going off into another direction that's way off of what I asked you. I'm not averse to tough love but since when did asktrp become a place to bash people and throw assumptive comments with no basis? Maybe you doing so is a projection of your own insecurities.

What you say makes sense. Now that I think about it, my insecurity is the result of just what you said: my trying to measure myself up to some arbitrary standard of masculinity. I don't need to answer to anyone. Thanks for your input. P.s. I'm more aware of what I was using weed for back then and will not use it the same way now. A toke once in a while won't hurt and I'm not going to apologize for that.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
