Have you ever read "A Child Called It?"" You should. Your story sounds similar. I know the author helps people and may have resources for you. I'm glad you are getting help now and sorry for what happened. I can relate, although my bio dad was my abusive person. It's very easy to abuse people with any kind of impairment. The stats are horrifying. I use a wheelchair full time myself. Congrats on getting this far and I can refer to ADHD and autism groups if that will be of help.

I, personally, wouldn't want a cent from my ex (if I had one) for myself. I would only ask that they pay any $ toward my rent/living if our kid was inside me or I had full/more than 50% custody of child/children. If thwy had more than 50% custody, I'd pay them, by the way. Any support $ would go to the kid for activities, clothes, or equipment that our kid needed.

I know actual men who are the at home parent. This doesn't mean that they aren't men or are acting like women.

For myself, I'd totally respect a guy who wanted to be the stay at home parent. Your comment acts as if every woman is going to be like "You're not a man anymore." Some women know it's 2014 (almost).

If you still want to be with this girl, as it seems you do (just hit a rough patch), I wouldn't go around asking that. Get a test only if you really and truly WANT IT TO BE OVER, because once those words are out of your mouth it's likely to be. Something similiar happened to a pair of friends. His disability was supposed to make him sterile so they had unprotected sex. She got pregnant, he freaked. The kid couldn't be his. She maintained it was. He went to his doc, was pronounced unlikely (low c…

I was just pointing out that their are supportive cancer resources for MEN and WOMEN from one agency, so someone is aiming to support everyone who has all types of cancers. I fail to understand why people are so upset. Isn't this the sort of thing people here want to be made aware of?

I an bi. I had zero choice in the matter (accept, of course, I could've been one on those closeted bridge jumpers- no thanks). I don't think men are losers. My requirements for relationships are the same across either gender. I want a person who likes books, is NOT a republican, is interested in something deeper than a one night stand, can have a good conversation, and wants to change the world in some of the same ways that I do. No bigots need apply. If anyone can fill these requirements, I'm d…

Both genders are held insane body image ideals.

My only issue is if a man and a woman have the same job and don't get paid the same. However, I think all K to 12 educators need a big raise- right know, without regard to an educator's gender. They do important work 5 days a week, for a minimum of 30 hours!

I, personally, want you to call 911 if you see rape happening. Note where you saw the incident, especially cross streets, if applicable. If you are beefy, large, and able I want you to also tackle/distract rapist. But call 911 first and get help on the way, Before trying to deal with the guy, that way if they get out of hand with you, help is en route. I figure every human regardless of gender, size, ability (I'm posting as a woman in a wheelchair) can at least call 911.

I'm not entirely sure what you want me to "out" with. I'm also not sure why you seem so angry at my dealing with bureaucrat tips. They've served me well. Ask me any questions. I'm a pretty open book.

I have a disability and have spent many, many hours on the phone with bureaucrats so I understand that. All that experience has taught me one thing. If you never, never, let it rest and keep DEMANDING to be transferred to someone's supervisor and their supervisor and theirs and theirs right on up the line, you get someone who WANTS TO HELP eventually, write down their name, extension, e-mail. At times I've gone to the office and remained there for hours until someone help me just so they could g…

I do not endorse Valerie Solanis. Ms. Daly and I have a major academic departure because I think anyone should be able to take any course, regardless of subject. As to Dworkin and Dines, I feel their work has merit. Porn may in fact contribute to warping people's ideas of what sex is/will be like. A mistaken childhood encounter with it warped mine, but I am a single data point. As to Morgan, Sisterhood is powerful altered my life for the much better, although I disagree with her views on trans f…

An interesting idea, but what about schooling? Most parents don't live the same school distict. You can't a have a kid going to a different school every week, month, year, or whatever. I've seen cases were the kids live in the house and the parents rent an apartment and live there when their not on primary care taker duty. Or if they live close enough one gets Mon-Wed until after school than the other takes over. If you can do something like this- fabulous. Otherwise uprooting kids regularly is …

INMO, I believe that both parents are responsible. No custodial parent should spend child support on themselves. It should go to rent, bills, childcare which might benefit the other parent but are not for them. Manicures and child-free vacations are way out of line. I thought their was a complaint system if you felt your ex wasn't using the money well. I'm good at being a squeaky wheel and you can bet I would be if that was occurring. Also, I think that non-custodial parents SHOULD have to pay, …

I'm really pleased to learn that what I thought was a good idea for the first time I heard it, doesn't allow a person to just walk away/economically abuse children. This is like all forms of activism. Most people are sane with really good hearts and intentions, bot there are THE OTHERS. Those that just want to use a good movement to further their own, often evil, ends. They smear movements and make the general public assume that ALL people of that view are jerks. This is not true of MRA or any o…

I agree. No one should be required to pay no more than they earn. Why do you mean about debtor's prisons?

What do you mean? No, I don't hate this law. If you have a baby and can't take care of it, It's responsible to leave it at a hospital, fire station, police station. I'm not sure how that's related

i don't believe that ANY PERSON regardless of gender ought to be allowed to abdicate their responsibility to children because of them not liking what or who they kid is. That's all.

I am a feminst. This free screening is part of Go Red not Obamaccare. Go Red started because no one was screening women for heart disease, which meant a lot of dead women because doctors tend not to believe women when we complain or think we're hysterical. Trust me, I've been there. As a healthcare advocate, I suggest: go to this screening and say "I need to be screened" they'll probably be happy to help, find other free clinics, apply for Medicaid, or apply for free care at a hospital, doctor, …
