Well, the main issue is for people who are just starting their transition or don't yet pass. Ideally greater understanding of Trans* persons would allow them to use the bathroom of their choosing until they begin to "pass" at which point they would be restricted to gender specific bathrooms with that which they identify. This hits me really hard as an MTF individual. Not only is it pointing out that I am not welcome in Women's restrooms (because technically penis) not am I welcome in Men's (cuz ya know, woman. I don't even want to be in there to begin with). Just thought I'd share an additional side to this.

Uhm. No. Not at all. First off, HRT needs to take place. Testosterone naturally kills estrogen, so before I can take estrogen effectively I need to take an anti-androgen. Well. I was a Men's rights ally before I came out as trans. I've been flat our rejected by most feminist groups because I am biologically still a man at this time. Mtf treatment is harder to obtain and less socially accepted than Ftm. The list goes on and on.

Prepared for downvotes, but... The thing is, the article says that the vic's family doesn't want her to go to jail. Wouldn't you want the victim's opinion taken into account? Especially with statutory rape. Many times it's the "victim"'s parents freaking out and not at all what the "victim" wants. Now, if she actually raped the boy, throw her in jail. the problem is that the image says that "a set of ideas be immune to criticism, satire, derision, or contempt". challenging their position, such as what atheism does to religion, falls under "criticism, satire, derision, or contempt". the fact that they retort with just as much vigor as religion does to opposition puts in the same area as treating their ideas as "immune". that is the issue.
