Parents are supposed to want the best for their children but actually they want their kid to have a life like them. There are too many examples to count.

There's a theory that the moderators of /r/mgtow are actually feminist women who are trying to create a hate-filled community so they can prove their point about men. Thus why any rational comments are banned. Not saying it's true but it would make a lot of sense.

I was banned there for some unknown reason but I had already moved to this subreddit. The /r/mgtow subreddit is a very angry and insecure community that holds deep resentment against any and all women. However the actual MGTOW philosophy is about living free of women, so there is no reason for any anger. Spending your time obsessing over someone else instead of improving yourself is the opposite of what the philosophy stands for.

Banned from Unpopular Opinion for having an unpopular opinion. There's some irony there.

I have no idea, I've wondered the same thing. The original MGTOW philosophy has nothing to do with hating women, it's about self-realization. Now it's leaking over to this subreddit from the other MGTOW sub. People need to get a grip and just worry about yourself, stop obsessing over someone else because of your own insecurities.

Love can have many definitions, I assume you mean "romantic love" as popularized in movies and other media. Personally I've been MGTOW for a year or so and I don't miss it. Lately I have been more interested in relationships built on pragmatic foundations like shared goals, etc. Not that romantic love is bad, it's actually enjoyable while it lasts. But I would say songs like the Beatles song "Love is All You Need" are definitely overselling it. My experience is you need to have a connection with…

The banned from MGTOW mega thread seems to be locked, looks like it hit the six month mark.

Most women who feel this way will deny it, so at least she's honest. My advice, stay far away from people like this. They'll act like they're ready to settle down but really they're just waiting for the next bad boy chad to come around.

Saying 100% of women cheat is just as dumb as the feminists who say 100% of men cheat.

People don't want to accept that, but there's no point in denying reality. The idea of mating for life is as much a fantasy for humans as it is for every other species on the planet.

This is scary stuff. I would definitely get legal advice if I was cohabiting with someone for more than a couple of months.

Posts that have nothing to do with MGTOW and are just childish, thin-skinned resentment toward women.

What's the point of this post in the context of MGTOW? It's well known men are cleaner than women in general, not sure how this promotes the philosophy of forging our own paths to success. This sub should renamed Men Obsessed with Being Better than Women, with the recent posts.

To be that one teacher that makes a difference in someone's life, puts them on the right path. I wouldn't be in my current position without that one teacher who cared.

Every teacher I know has way more free time than me. Especially in the summer. Not sure where that 90 hours come from.

Yes there are different types of intelligence. People who are mathematical geniuses but can barely communicate, they're intelligent in one way and not in another.

Eh, 7% difference in the scores is not that significant especially because less women play chess. It's like saying women are better athletes because they score better in figure skating. There are different types of intelligence, a woman who might not be mathematically inclined can have higher levels of emotional intelligence. In general, try not to focus on who's better and just focus on improving yourself.

There won't be, the birth rate in many countries has already dropped dramatically. In some countries like Japan the population is actually going down because more people are dying than being born. It's leveling off.

Can't understand how even the simpest person can watch her. It hurts my brain just hearing her speak.

This took me a long time to realize but it's completely true. Back when I was a simp, I dated a girl who was always whining to me about her ex. One of her complaints was that he didn't care about romance. On Valentine's Day, he told her "fuck that" and treated it like any other normal day. She said she just wished someone would give her flowers and a stuffed bear. So when Valentine's Day rolled around, I gave her a boquet with a small stuffed bear attached. She thought it was cute, then proceede…

We're both pretty busy adults so I wasn't too concerned that a day went by without texting. Considering that I was the one who approached, texted, asked her out, etc. I was just trying to slow down and not seem like a stalker. That's one of the main reasons I don't like texting. You don't get any of the nonverbal signals about whether someone is interested. You don't know if not texting means they're busy, or they just don't like you. It's not an ideal way to communicate IMO.

That second part is good advice, I have a habit of coming across as too friendly and I don't think it helps. Any thoughts on text game after the initial meeting? I'm thinking wait for a text or don't wait and just arrange another meeting.

Thanks, always good to get a female perspective. Some of the other comments were suggesting that text should only be used to set up a date. How would you feel if a guy did that? I had one that went pretty well on Thursday, or at least I think it did. I haven't gotten a text yet, bad sign?

Thanks man, I used a line pretty close to that and it worked like a charm. Do you think the same about text game after the first meeting? I had had sushi with one girl on Thursday and coffee with a different girl on Friday and haven't texted yet.

You're right I'm probably overthinking it. I was kind of waiting for them to say something that indicates interest beyond just a text conversation. I think part of the problem is I got the numbers by just straight up asking for them, rather than suggesting that we do something as a reason to get the number. Because at least then I would have something to go on.

Yeah I agree with that for the most part. But I try not to come right out and ask for a meeting right away, given the person only met me for a few minutes and doesn't really know me. Should I just go for it within the first couple of messages?

In real life I feel like I can gauge whether someone is interested and what to ask, like do you want to have coffee, let's go see a movie, etc. When I'm texting I really have no idea if they're into the conversation or if they're just responding to be polite.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
