that was a powerful read. thank you. i recently just left a four year relationship and have learned many things about myself in a short amount of time. i have come to see that one of my gifts is the ability to endure very harsh circumstances. perhaps i had relied on the idea of outcome independence to cope. now that many of my burdens have lifted, maybe it is not something i need to cling to any longer. it feels like a seed has been planted.

your amendment to ops message spoke to me as i struggle to seek outcome independence while maintaining forward momentum. you balanced ops message of being content in the moment with the ideal of continuously working toward a goal, even with the acceptance that you may never reach it.

i think you touched on something subtle but significant, and it resonated with me deeply: believing that things fall into peoples laps makes you believe that you are not in full control of your own circumstances. as you said, in reality, it is usually just another excuse not to push yourself and try harder.

i think a better analogy is that if women can wear push-up bras, you can wear lifts! like you said, by the time you take off your shoes, youre already closing.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
