Yeah it’s a validation issue. Mine does the same.

I made the mistake of helping my ex financially. I ended up having to ask for help myself. It’s not a good idea.

Bravo on the self improvement. Always trust your gut feeling and MAKE everyone who denies it PROVE it’s wrong.

Let me know when you figure out how to get through this. Currently in a similar situation, though maybe not as severe. She didn’t file anything against me other than the divorce. Just why suddenly and why make excuses like I’m not treating her right or helping her with things when I was basically a slave to her?

I never get mine a gift. She don’t give me anything so why should I?

Heck, I fell for a girl who made it clear she just wanted to be friends. I blame my loneliness for it. Ended up pushing her away.

This is very similar to my experience. Aside from the no cheating or lying. On her part. Moved out of my parents directly in with her. Divorce after 9 years. Living on my own now. It was terrifying. Emotional. Definitely took a toll on me. But man, I gained new friends who helped me cope a bit. Keep your head up.

I assume I still have the 50/50 should that occur, however, a different arrangement would need to be agreed upon in order to fulfill the 50/50 end of the deal. In my case, she moved two hours away (not for work, just to try to stay fresh I guess) but we still made it work for every weekend at least. With my mother’s help. I suppose having supportive family has a factor as well.

You’re right there. The court really just accepts whatever is given them. She and I are doing this divorce without a lawyer involved. But I do have to say that there are some, both men and women whose spouses are very manipulative and get away with making them look like really bad people. But again, I still wonder why they lost the fight. Did they not try hard enough? Did they just succumb to the manipulators tactics?

I always cherish the time with my kids. I try to make sure they have a good time as well. The nod at the “free babysitting” was more because I don’t want to help her go do things she can have fun with because she complains about not having money all the time. There’s a lot to the story that I didn’t feel I had room to put into the post.

That’s a positive way to view it.

I live in a studio apartment now because it’s all I can afford after the child support and bills. So yeah I feel that emptiness.

The arrangement is two weekends on two weekends off. Because of my work schedule changing every two weeks between first and second shift.

That’s a valid point. I guess some guys don’t even get weekends, so that’s where I’m coming from. I do value my time with my kids.

Thanks for that. I tend to worry too much about what her motive is.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
