I had my Testosterone checked and came back in the low 300's and got put on TRT through a clinic... Couple of thoughts about this whole episode. First, you say you "got put on TRT", passive voice. Is this something you want to do? Or are you letting things happen to you? I have no opinion on TRT, and usually suggest following what your doctor recommends, but the way you write makes me think you haven't considered what you want here Stuff is just happening to you. Second, you said that you hid th…

it might just be easier to start new without all this beta baggage in our relationship. You're not married, no kids; there's no reason to stay with her if things aren't working. But consider that the "beta baggage" is not in your relationship, it's in you. If you move to another woman, you're going to do exactly what you're doing now. There will be another dry spell, you'll feel anxiety-inducing tension at the thought of being turned down by your new girl, and you'll end up spending another 5 ye…

OYS #10 Stats: 32, 188lbs, married 5 years, 2 kids under 3 Lifts: Squat 145lbs, Bench 105, Row 100, OHP 85, Deadlift 135, negative chinups Read: NMMNG, WISNIFG, MMSLP; didn't have time to read this week, but starting on WISNIFG again 60 DoD - Style: Good post, but not a ton for me to act on right now. Clothing budget is spent until after Christmas, and I've already been working on some grooming improvements; shaving more often, cleaning up eyebrows, etc. It did help me focus on areas that matter…

Any recommendations on finding a good tailor? Or is tailor skill not really an issue? The malls by me typically have one or two, but I've always shied away from sending them anything more than adjusting a pant leg, or the like.

I told myself I didn't have time to go to doctors/dentists/etc., but that's not really true. Also bought some cologne to try out. Haven't worn it before so I got one of those gift packs that have multiple small scents. Decent variety so I'm looking forward …

Thanks for the post, good stuff. Going to try out some cologne. I read through RocknRollChuck's post and will take a look next time I'm in a department store. Going to pick something cheaper and inoffensive, as the main thing I'm looking to do is develop a habit. Then I'll start trying out scents that might be more interesting. One area I could use some advice is skincare. I have a dual curse of very dry skin and sweating in any temperature over 74. I've thought about getting something to put on…

OYS #8 Stats: 32, 190lbs, married 5 years, 2 kids under 3 Lifts: Squat 115lbs, Bench 75, Row 95, OHP 70, Deadlift 115, negative chinups Read: NMMNG, WISNIFG, reading MMSLP Fitness: Sticking with Phrak's Greyskull. Primary goal is adding strength across all lifts, secondary is cutting weight, tertiary is cleaning up what I eat. On the strength front, some of my progress is slowing down, particularly rows and OHP. I've bought some fractional plates to try and keep adding weight for a little while …

Have you tried any of the strategies in WISNIFG. You can just go eat- paint silent but sometimes it makes them worse before it gets better. I have, but the mental connection isn't well formed. Most of the time it's 15 minutes after the conversation that I realize fogging would have helped. Will give WISNIFG a reread since it's been a year. I should probably try eating paint once to see what happens. It would at least be practice in doing things that make me uncomfortable; if I can force myself t…

You ramble too much and it's a reflection of how you think. Fair enough. That's a problem I have generally; with trying to keep my mouth shut this week it's like every comment I was tempted to make is bouncing around my head and comes out as a bunch of vomit when I try to write out what I did. I'll have to deal with my disorganized thinking, but in the meantime I'll try drafting my OYS the day before I post them. Should help me cut down to what actually matters.

OYS #7 Stats: 32, 196lbs, married 5 years, 2 kids under 3 Lifts: Squat 95lbs, Bench 70, Row 90, OHP 65, Deadlift 115, negative chinups Read: NMMNG, WISNIFG, reading MMSLP Fitness: Switched to phraks Greyskull based on RPeed's 60DoD advice. Much more fun than SL, was definitely missing the chinups and the AMRAP sets are a blast. I am noticing that I quit my AMRAP sets too early. Part of it might be poor breathing, I tend to hold my breath over 2-3 reps and start feeling winded when I get over 10,…

Phraks routine seems like an upgrade so I'll try it for a while. to increase your bench you want to gain bodyweight To look better I need to lose weight, so there's a conflict between my top two goals. In your opinion, can I get away with losing weight and increasing strength at this stage, or do I need to pick one?

I'm not planning on competing in anything, so it's really just get stronger and look better. Strength is my top priority for now. I have an idea of benching my own bodyweight as being my first major milestone. At that point I'll reevaluate and figure out the next couple of goals.

If you're giving, I'll be taking. Stats: 32, 5'11", 195 Lifts: Squat 90lbs, Bench 65, Row 85, OHP 65, Deadlift 105 Following Stronglifts from the beginning. Goals: Stay on track with the Stonglift progression through end of year. Drop weight under 185. Learn enough to implement a better routine in January. I know these are very simple; I don't know if there's any advice to give besides "do it". If you have recommendations on other routines to move quicker, I'm happy to hear them. Still reading t…

I'm mostly joking, and it's mostly a competitive anger. Like, "I could be doing what these guys are doing, why aren't I?" But you're right that it's not the best attitude, too tied into other people.

I'm doing Stronglifts. Goals are to hit the point where I can't increase the lifts by 5lbs a session, and to lose my tits. That seems like a good baseline to hit before considering more advanced routines. Current diet plan is Eat Less. That won't work for long, but it works now. Regarding not learning game, I simply mean that nothing I'm currently doing will lead to me figuring it out. It's something that will require effort and intention. Contrast with a guy regularly going to bars trying to pi…

Problem is you have no control over her reactions. You're right, I'm thinking about shit-tests like a video game (press X to intimidate, Y to seduce, oh no! you chose wrong!) when I should have realized real people aren't scripted. But is there no value in understanding how the things I say **tend** to affect her? Or is even that framing too causal?

I appreciate your feedback my ammonia-scented friend, but you confuse me. At this moment, what can I be doing to be more alpha? I feel like, right now, I don't have enough foundational value to do much else besides getting in shape and trying to manage my communication to be less unattractive. Game and frame are in the (near) future, but I can't work on everything at once. If you mean my lack of 'time for myself', you've made an impression. Including that 'time for myself' is entirely the wrong …

You're right, but I'm also figuring out that I'm just a pretty content person by temperament. So I have to account for the fact that in any argument with my wife, she's always going to care more than I do. So either I learn to care more, or I need to account for the difference when we're in conflict. I watched a drunk guy play online poker one time. He won a ton of money by constantly going all-in. No one wanted to call his bluffs, so they just kept folding until they lost. Not sure exactly how …

Pedantic. Must be a real hit with the ladies. Are you a woman I'm trying to impress? You asked a question and I answered. But you're still kind enough to give me your time, so I'll assume I lost the subject of the conversation somewhere. what do you do, or plan to do, because you decided to do it, all by yourself? For now, pray and work out. I have a desire to write short stories at some point, but I'm not currently capable of sticking to a goal like that. I've tried in the past, and usually aft…

Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. What do you want? Does that matter to you? I want us to be financially secure, and to have some time to pursue things that interest me. If I work, great. If not, I'll homeschool the kids and raise chickens. But I am starting to realize that adaptability, while sometimes useful, is not necessarily the most attractive trait in a man. If you really believe what the Church teaches, then keep after the pursuit of spiritual growth. I'm also realizing my failu…

Thanks, you make some interesting points I'm going to have to think about. You have to be an asshole sometimes dude. Some things will just have to be your fault. I feel like I'm capable of this, but if you're identifying that as my problem then I have think a bit. The obvious answer is I'm rationalizing things, but it might be something like I'm not valuing myself enough. In other words, am I not being an asshole because I'm avoiding confrontation, or because I feel I'm not losing something impo…

Yeah, I understand the words, I just don't understand why people point to a retard with a red hat and 1.8 kids and say "That's a traditionalist". That's still a Modernist my dude, history started before 1945. But I guess the words are less important than us agreeing that those guys suck.

Thanks, I agree with the sentiment, though I have no idea what you faggots mean when you say 'tradcon'. Y'all never seem to be talking about anything I'd recognize as traditional. Theories regarding the truth of human sexual dynamics. A praxeology that applies those theories to better the lives of men, particularly with regards to sex. The secret diary of a plough horse. Yes. I hate it.

Are both of those issues, or just the focus on my wife? It'll take time for me to write about myself better, I've always had that issue. My first draft of this post was longer, but it just read like a list of excuses so I took a lot of it out. Still a lot of excuses, but better than it was. How's this for a rework of the argument section: Had an argument with the wife over future working arrangements. Our available childcare will change after our second child arrives. After trying to look at my life more honestly, I'm much further behind that I wanted to admit. My life is complete chaos at this point, and I am not capable of fixing it in a few weeks. You strike me as a man who fills his schedule with activity so he is always too tired and busy to confront the really important things that need confronting. You're not wrong, but I'm didn't actively choose to fill my schedule. It was a series of small concessions where there was always a good reason why I had to be the one to take up a task, and often times with an intention that it would be a temporary measure. Some of these I can't easily remove, like my childcare arrangements. The task ahead…

Probably. What am I rationalizing? DEERing too much? EDIT: Re-read my post, thought about it, I'm rationalizing just about everything. I'm trying to write a story better than what I'm actually doing. My ability to act right now is limited, I don't think that's totally in my head, but maybe that's more rationalization. The "just-in-time life" I'm trying to describe at the beginning of my post is the issue, but I don't have a good idea of how to fix it. I think my idea of restricting my focus to f…

My big lesson from the week is that a lot of my life runs "just in time"; if there is a delay, disruption, or problem, no matter how minor, there is the potential for things to cascade very quickly into something more difficult to resolve. Thanks for the reply. Gym - Not trying to complain, just working through possible solutions. Probably will have to figure it out by picking something and trying to make it work. Marriage - Working on thinking this way. I get it intellectually, but I'm finding my downstream thinking and behaviors don't switch automatically. It's going to be a matter of noticing when I react in ways that are not helpful to me, then consciously switching to new behavior until the better mental model is my default. …
