If you have access to an unlimited number of investments with a 5% return and rated AA (low risk), why would you ever consider another investment with the same 5% return but rated C (high risk). The fact is, you never would unless you thought that latter investment was special (pedestal) or you weren't aware of the other options (lack of abundance mentality).
