Yeah just like when a woman divorce rapes a man, it's his fault for not holding frame and disciplining her.

Selling the best performing asset in the history of finance because “the wife wants”. I just can’t even imagine living like that. It’s so hard to succeed financially, even if you know what to do. Working, developing professionally, saving, investing, passing up on fancy bullshit today so you can have more tomorrow; it’s massively difficult to manage this yourself. Having to constantly negotiate with someone who wants fancy cars, houses and handbags just makes it damn near impossible.

BTC is a solution to the Byzantine Generals' Problem and is a technological miracle. A reliable, peer-to-peer, decentralized ledger. A bank with no bankers, a currency with no government. How many years does it have to continue working, with 100% uptime, before people stop calling it a ponzi scheme?

This doesn't make any sense to me. The 30k is gone the moment they buy the house, which would be in both their names. At that point it's already legally split. Surely she isn't planning on leaving him before they buy the house in 3 months, just to skate away with a cool $15k breakup fee? /s

This is pure projection. "When did that become a fundamental part of your personality?" I think the author is the one who is obsessed with having no husband or kids. These are guys trying to get pussy and are indicating that they don't have child support or alimony obligations. They also have plenty of spare time to devote to said pussy hunt. Why would you not put that front and center?

As someone who has gone months without being held or having sex, sex was what I missed the most. Like, by a lot.

I'm in a similar boat but I do place value on minimizing my suffering and maximizing my pleasure. To a lesser degree I see value in doing the same for others. This mentality can lead to hedonism, but I think that road leads to more suffering in the long run. I also think that the experience of life could have meaning, but we are blind to it for some reason. That isn't very helpful as far as how one should behave, but may provide some comfort.

“Um... yeah vaccines usually take a decade to develop and test for safety, but.... erm we really tested this one good in 6 months and we would never compromise safety in exchange for winning a global race to provide 7 billion doses of vaccine at $50 a pop” They can take their vaccine and stick it up their assess. I’ll take my chances with COVID.

I don't understand this idea that minimum wage should support a comfortable lifestyle. Minimum wage should provide the minimum lifestyle. A minimum wage worker should be renting a room in someone else's house for $400-500 a month, or better yet, living with family. They should not have a car, they should have a moped or take the bus. They should not have cable, and should have a shitty boost mobile phone for $30 a month. And before the downvote brigade comes to tell me how "unrealistic" all that…

"Media says media's favored candidate was totally exonerated." She destroyed 30,000 emails that were under subpoena. The director of the FBI went on TV and said "Yeah she committed crimes but prosecuting her would be unreasonable." Meanwhile lots of other people had been prosecuted for much less.

Imagine doing unpaid internships with a masters degree. That is the reality of psych majors. It’s super flooded with people who think it’s interesting or want to fix their own shit, and most of the jobs are helping poor people which means shit pay. You think you’ll be Frazier, but really you’ll be that black lady in Joker who gets fired when the budget is cut. It’s terrible, please don’t do this.

There will always be countless people who have more than you, that got it easier, that are even crappy people. There will also be countless people who have much less than you and have a much harder life than you do, and they may even be great people. Try not to get so caught up in what other people have and do, and focus on what you have and try to be grateful for it.

None of that involves my bitcoin disappearing from my wallet. I do think they could try all the stuff you mention, but there is no way it would be a worldwide cooperative effort. Even within the US, crypto friendly states like Wyoming would be resistant to such efforts. Outside the US, there are many countries that would welcome bitcoin holders. Anyone with knowledge in the space can hide bitcoin so that the only way to confiscate it would be physical torture. I disagree that they are doing ever…

I'd sure like to hear the details on how that could possibly happen. Let me guess, the all-powerful government will snap their fingers and it will happen? Like I said in another comment, it is decentralized, peer-to-peer software. If it somehow is co-opted by the government, users who value censorship resistant, permission-free money will fork away from the government-controlled network and bitcoin will continue to exist.

They can try, and that might have an effect on value, but it's effectively impossible to shut down the network. It's run on tens of thousands of computers all over the world, on a peer-to-peer basis. It's like trying to shut down bittorrent. Not to mention that countries that embrace the technology will benefit, even as other countries outlaw it.

At the risk of sounding like a shill, bitcoin was invented precisely for this. Censorship-free money. It doesn't matter if you face government sanctions, have an illegal business, have a legal business in danger from the "woke" crowd, or simply can't qualify for a bank account. If you have access to the internet, you can use bitcoin.

This is the philosophy of a child. We are a species of killers and it is impossible to tread this earth without leaving death and suffering in your wake. The food you eat is produced by killing everything that lived where it is grown. What do you think happened to all of the animals that used to live where you live? If you live in a city, you’ve contributed to the utter destruction of entire natural communities that have then been covered with square miles of pavement and asphalt. Mining metal, …

Is it just me, or is only having sex when your roommate isn’t home a ridiculous concession to make? I had two roommates (all separate rooms) and it never even occurred to me to limit myself. They called my girlfriend Chewbacca because of the noise and it was a funny joke.

Well, nothing in life is really important. We will all die anyway; in 100 years no one will give a fuck about you or anything you did, any of your suffering or anything you worked for. In a million years our species will likely be extinct and if not the death of the sun or universe will ensure it. But humans seem to have an unreasonable need to matter. You can respond by killing yourself, believing in god or some supernatural source of meaning, or accepting the lack of meaning but continuing to …

It’s always easier to go back on the plantation than to escape. That’s part of the appeal of checking out the MGTOW lifestyle. If I ever get sentimental in my old age and want to pay some woman’s bills, they will be lined up for the opportunity.

I'm not religious. I don't think God is watching me sin and looking down disappointingly. However, religion has a built-in philosophy of life that I think is largely positive for the people who practice it. I don't mean prosperity doctrine bullshit, but about what is really important in life and how you should treat yourself and other people. Unfortunately, as we, collectively, discarded religion, we also discarded that philosophy, leaving a society that worships materialism and fame, which are …

I doubt this is true for this reason alone, “she displayed a pattern of workplace complaints against co-workers without a reasonable basis for doing so, in a manner that was inappropriate, disruptive and in bad faith.” So it could be that Disney's auditors missed $6B in fake revenue, or a woman who routinely files HR complaints ramps up to an SEC complaint. Don't get me wrong, Disney sucks, but I think it's more likely they hired some nutcase who abuses the system to get her way.

This is a quote from “Meditations” which was Marcus Aurelius’ personal diary. No one even read it until after he was dead. He was a stoic and I suspect this was a personal reminder that other people would not live the way he wanted them to, and not to despair over their shortcomings. It was about the exact opposite of virtue signaling.

I think it boils down to a biological imperative: the more promiscuous the mother of your children, the less likely her children are yours. Spending resources raising other people's kids is a genetic dead end, and would be selected against. As far as "that was in the past", the past is all we have to go on.

Not sticking up for Gillette, but revenue is up and profit is down. Means their costs have gone up more than their sales, but sales are still up. I hope there is a backlash, but I think it will take a little longer to appear.

I was confused on that too. All over the place she talks about being a former model, looking the same, takes car of her body, is fit, etc, then one small ambiguous "curvy" and it all made sense. Chad doesn't commit to fat chicks.

How far we have fallen. Being fat is so normalized that even medically obese people aren't considered fat at all. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:MISQUAMICUT_STATE_BEACH_-_NARA_-_547482.jpg It used to be that's how normal people looked. This isn't some gathering of models. We, collectively, have gotten incredibly fucking fat (myself included).

I have an Oculus specifically for porn (and a Vive in the living room). To anyone considering it: it's fantastic. It's much more personal; the girl(s) are looking at you, talking to you. Sometimes they come close and whisper in your ear and it's like you can feel them there. When in VR your lizard brain really feels like its real life which is what makes it great. For a non-porn example, I find it very difficult to step off of a cliff in VR. Standing on the edge, I feel just like a regular cliff…
