I was with you until the last paragraph. Prefacing it by saying you're not TRYING to be misogynistic doesn't absolve what follows. I know this is a men's focused subreddit but the truth is, these tables can just as easily be flipped, because none of the things you listed on either "side" are inherently belonging to one gender or the other. My post-divorce girlfriend is also divorced, because she was the one that did everything in the relationship, much like myself and (it sounds like) you. I und…

I filed. I consulted a lawyer and he verified everything I was dealing with was legit, and definitely going to kill me in the long run. And then I served my then wife with papers. I didn't ask her, because she was living a cushy life, why would she ever agree to it? Just rip off the band-aid, it's not going to be pretty no matter what.

Court is not a thing. The divorce was finalized in June, on the 24th. The only reason I would need to go back is for a custody battle, which at this point I'm confident will work itself out in the end.

Her justifications really didn't come into play. She chose to move away for support from her family. I think she secretly hope so would keep the house as some sort of stability for my daughter, with some neighborhood friends and etc. Problem is,the house is too big for me alone and without the kid going to school here, it makes sense to downsize. I asked for counseling 3-4 years ago and multiple times since, and she thought we could work on it ourselves. Well, even though I was still vocal about…

My ex, to "get back on her feet" decided to move near her parents, and so that would pull my daughter out of the current school system. Due to that, I felt there was nothing keeping me in this neighborhood, so there was no reason for me to keep a home full of painful memories, so I had all the autonomy in the world to say I'm selling it.

Sounds like a very familiar situation. Life will have a way of balancing things out, and your kids will eventually see the truth. Hang in there and good luck!

A thought popped into my head that she is purposely keeping you out of any situations where she could be seen with a new partner. School, home, and church. Her boundaries may all be intertwined in the sense she is keeping you detached from her personal life, which doesn't sound all that unrealistic. Obviously this is just a working theory from a couple paragraph synopsis.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
