Hardly. There's cultural superiority, for sure, but if it was feminist imperialism we'd be invading Saudi Arabia. Instead, the media is appealing to feminist sensibilities among others. In order to justify invasion we have to say we're freeing someone, women from society, men from dictators. Of course it isn't actually working, the media just employs the issues until the deed is done.

Don't worry, any slightly left of "center" (America center, mind you) view of the world is considered a conspiracy theory. Think corporations have a heavy hand in government? You should be wearing a tin foil hat. Think America went to war for resources and not terrorism? You're a loon. It's an attempt to marginalize views that threaten the corporate status quo, but then again that's probably just a conspiracy theory.

It's a little self-deprecation, no big deal!

I think you aren't understanding etherspirit's post in the way it should be. Though inflammatory as it may seem, his point is that if only a mother were to raise a boy it would be worse than only a father and much worse than both raising a boy. That is what I think he's saying anyways.

I think the biggest problem I have with these debates is the other side's blaming of the victim. "He should have used a condom" or "He was being irresponsible." Even if these claims were true, they do not warrant the degree of punishment that the law provides.

You are somewhat correct, however, a father can teach a son a lot more about picking up women than a mother can. This is because father's teach their sons how to pick up women as women really are and mothers teach their sons about how to pick up women in the way they wish they were.

While I mostly agree with you, I certainly don't think early man was monogamous, in fact I'm pretty certain there is evidence against this, though I don't have any sources.

Evolutionary psychology is largely bullshit because most of the field appears to work backwards. We have a conclusion, and then we come up with what caused this. Whether or not this is "real" evolutionary psychology, I wouldn't know, but this is how I see it largely used.

I am a man, I am perfectly fine with the idea of online friendships.

I agree, and chock up the lower scores to cultural influence rather than inherent disability. However, there are undoubtable differences between male and female minds, and to call them all imaginary is pretty ridiculous all things considered.

Linky There are very real biological differences with mental capabilities as well. But regardless, when it comes to pregnancy two people submit their genes, so both people have committed to the act of raising the child. However, the law treats this as if men were the only ones to commit, women are merely victims of the man's genetic material. Most people here are suggesting that both make a decision post insemination about whether or not they raise the child. If the man opts out the woman can st…

"In Martin's case, with her hefty prison sentence, and placement on the sex offenders' register, she has effectively been punished exactly the same as a man." Equality, ladies. We wanted it, we got it. Now, all of a sudden, we don't seem to want it. And why..? Because 'it's not fair!!!'. Way to go, Barbara. Great quote from the comments section

I love the fact that because discrimination is popular it's ok. Prop 8 and ladies night are discriminatory but popular, so it's ok! Just like slavery in the south until recently. We give people their rights based on how much the general population likes them, it's a great system. I personally don't care about this issue, but the other side's arguments are weak and non-existent.

Well, I tried to post something of interest, it seems that they support separatism "all the way!" shrug When it comes down to it you can't expect to get anything done if the sole purpose of your conversation is to bitch and moan without being tainted by the other side. I don't vehemently oppose the feminist movement, which is why I'm shocked that posting is against the rules.

This patriarchy and oppression and evilness exists only in the eyes of people looking for it. Since my life has felt in no way dedicated to oppressing half of my species I find it appalling that someone can accuse me of doing so off-handedly. I live my life for pursuing happiness, not for oppressing someone, I only find it pathetic and sad how she feels that I am doing otherwise.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
