Is the obsession women have for celebrities a form of demisexuality?Oh, I didn't mean to imply that normal people would be incapable of having feelings like that, they do indeed, but as a part of a more varied whole, while this subset of people seems to prefer it exclusively. I don't think being picky like that necessitates low libido either, because a woman could easily have a high libido, but if she was in a room full of unattractive people, they would likely still remain unattractive to her, no? It’s just a made up word to describe something everyone understa… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 10/10/19 08:15 AM
Do you believe that people should "fix themselves" for a relationship or otherwise just keep finding people who simply matches and/or tolerates them?I agree because a lot of problems leading to failed relationships are related to social skills, and you can't generally improve those much without practicing them in the real world. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/10/19 09:50 PM
Is the obsession women have for celebrities a form of demisexuality?I don't know. Having been to LGBT spaces, it seems to me that a lot of the people who identify as demi seem to also be more likely to be bi, so if anything, their potential dating pool seems a bit bigger than for regular straight women. They describe stuff like being attracted to characters in books, because that medium puts a lot more emphasis on the emotional aspects over physical attributes. Or people or characters with unconventional appearances, because they found their personality appealin… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/10/19 09:30 PM
Being yourself is excellent advice... if you're looking for a successful relationship. You're right, sorry. People can just happen to be hot while also being weird, and they will attract normal people too, not just those who wish they found a "unicorn". However, I find that the latter group does often specifically target the "weird" people, if that makes sense. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/10/19 08:29 PM
Being yourself is excellent advice... if you're looking for a successful relationship.Non-conformity certainly seems to attract certain dudes even more, especially the kind of dudes that have bad attitudes towards "normal" women for whatever reason. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/10/19 08:14 PM
The amount of guys complaining about not getting laid, without doing anything to better themselves, is too high.I think it's less about the hobby itself and more about how you present it. I mean, in the end, talking about the things you like is just another way of saying "I'm not a boring person. I do stuff!". Every now and then, I hear women complain about weird dates where the guy only seems to be interested in one hobby, and it's the only thing they talk about during the whole date. While a lot of it is probably a combination of anxiety and having heard that talking about their hobbies would make them … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 25/09/19 02:05 PM
How does asexuality affect lifetime income/education level/criminality? Any research on that? There hasn't been that much research on asexuals yet, but from what I've read so far, it seems that they tend to have lower education levels or socioeconomic status, if anything. While more investigation is definitely needed, it doesn't seem like a super power or anything. | /r/BlackPillScience | 26/03/19 07:11 PM
One of the weakest failings of TRP is trying to make all women responsible for the actions of a fewWhen people say that, what they mean is that they want to achieve the same level of familiarity and trust with someone actually attractive, while trying to be polite about it. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/06/17 03:54 PM
Has PPD ever ruined your day before? (Made you depressed, confused, etc.)Only really discovered this sub recently, and it's a-okay, if a bit monotonous. I usually like reading online debates in the first place, and the only time I've hated arguing with someone over the internet was recently due to bad timing, as a lot of bad shit had just happened in my life and I was feeling so depressed, I couldn't ever decipher half of their posts. (You know that feeling when you're just kinda unable to enjoy anything, even something like video games, and only feel helplessly frus… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/07/15 06:11 PM
CMV - The worst quotes from TRP are on a par with what you can find normalized in mainstream female culture .I disagree with what he's said about gamergate, but other than that, the blog does a good job of highlighting some fucked up shit that people say sometimes. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/07/15 05:03 PM
Why is saying "Hi" considered street harassment?Double ROT13. :P | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/07/15 03:41 PM
Why is saying "Hi" considered street harassment?I don't know about US culture, but in where I come from, talking to strangers in public places is frowned upon (except when there's a reason for it, such being lost and asking for help). I actually like that, even though I'm not exactly introverted or anything. I'm not sure about whether it qualifies as harassment, but I'm certainly annoyed when some people break this social convention. Doesn't help that they're typically old men smelling like alcohol. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/15 11:20 PM
