You're not reading that right. During one period 500,000 consecutive circumcisions were performed in New York City without fatality. This is feasible if the circumcision is deferred until the infant is at least 1 day old and is tested for bleeding tendencies. Only ~60% of Americans get circumcised. If that were correct, we would expect to see the a US rate at least 40% as high. LovingIt may also want to check out this study (reprinted here in its entirety), which specifically addresses the "1 in 600" study. The biggest risk factor for penile cancer is infection with HPV, for which a vaccine exists ("Gardasil").

I checked out the link. It's a bunch of anecdotes (which, again, fail to demonstrate that infant circumcision has no adverse effect on sensitivity). There is tons of stories there by men all over the world that LOVE their circumcisions. And good for them! But that doesn't mean neonatal circumcision leads to "much happier people." Most people LOVE their tattoos. Should we start inking infants?

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'. edit: Also, saying, He states sex got 10 times better after he was cut. doesn't debunk anything. The hypothesis is that circumcision leaves the glans penis unprotected, leading to keratinisation and a reduction in sensation. But if was cut later in life that process would start only after the surgery. So there'd be a big jump in sensation (psychologically very noticeable), followed by a gradual loss of sensation (unnoticable).
