Thanks. No I was not taking the piss, I honestly didn't know what the man/bear thing was. Maybe because I'm not on socials (including IG) and don't check this subreddit hardly ever :) Fwiw I am a man and would rather encounter ANY individual person, than encounter a bear. (Assuming the debate ended up defining this as a brown/grizzly? The aggressive type? A black bear just runs away afraid of humans)

I did not know this but it is yet another reason to not be on social media. In addition to all the very clear health and well-being concerns

This is wonderful and admirable, but it is a sample size of one (family)... Is there any research around family outcomes of single father households vs single mother households?

It breaks my heart to know that tomorrow, if I really wanted to, I could take my daughter from my husband and no one would even attempt to stop me. For real? Just up and walk away like that? No warning, no recourse, nothing? I have two kids (4 & 1) and while my wife and I have a strong relationship, and we split childcare and house responsibilities about as damn even as you could design it, still tucked way far back in the deepest corner of my mind there is the tiniest notion of how screwed I co…

As an exmormon, my god this is so typical I can practically physically feel it in my chest! Lemme guess, Highland/Alpine or like south Salt Lake County like Sandy or West Jordan or some other hellhole "Mormon suburban utopia"

My wife and I agreed to name our son with my wife's last name as his middle name and my last name as his last name, and our daughter with my last name as her middle name and my wife's last name as her last name. It's a little awkward but we feel it's the least awkward way for us to approach new norms. It's worked so far

Serious question, what if I am a male transitioned into female? Would I qualify for one of those female board seats?

If I understand correctly, it's also that working women tend on average to self-select into (lower-paying) professions that will give them greater flexibility with their time later, if and when they decide to have children.

Hawaii could add technology industry workers without sacrificing tourism. Hell, I work remotely and living in Hawaii on a tech salary from a mainland urban center sounds pretty nice. It is pretty far removed from anywhere else though. Long flight if you want to go anywhere at all

Is it medically possible to perform a corresponding procedure on a woman? (Serious question) If so, the question should be gender neutral, wouldn't need to be a male / female thing.

This needs to be higher. I've read she's worth £170M, or about USD$140M. Whatever settlement comes out of this will be some portion of that. This is all we know at this time. Edit: got the currencies mixed up. Worth ~£140M, which is ~USD$170M

the future is not male or female -- it is both I love this. As a 32 year old male with one son and one daughter, both under age 4, I am hyper-aware of the potential negative impact of all the various "future is female" bullshit. What kind of message does that subtly send my son and my daughter as they grow up? Inadequacy? Low self-esteem? Entitlement? Bias? Gender wars? Etc If I wore a "the future is male" shirt in public (especially here in Portland Oregon) my guess is I would get vocally stopp…

What?! That is BONKERS. Is this different from normal measures for determining admissible evidence? (Not all evidence is admissible in court and there are valid reasons for this, depending on your location)
