I fucking hate this sub, this is literally just the underlying misogyny rearing it's head. They're only arguing this point because it was a woman and not a man and she's 'overreacting'. Like the situation isn't any different from the video.

When did I say anything about recording or the phone? It's about him shoving something into her face and shouting aggressively.

This isnt true, legally or morally (legal depends on state/country tbf). If you get into someone's intimate/personal space, yell in an aggressive manner, and shove an object into their face, they have a right to respond physically.

I'm sure her parents love her, and are at their wits end about how to get her behavior straight, but it's not the way to do things. I work with children and teenagers that have been through this kind of stuff. It's a traumatic experience for them, and often makes things worse.

That's a straw man argument. It's the public shaming component that is wrong, not the fact that it's being brought up.

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion on this subreddit, but hear me out. Public shaming is child abuse. This is bullshit. They need to be setting boundaries and having conversations with their daughter about their expectations. Take her fucking phone away if you have to. Instead, they're airing out dirty laundry and parading the issue around on social media, which is the exact kinda bullshit I'm sure they don't want their daughter to do. I'm almost positive her behaviors have a lot to do with h…
