My STBX told me she had multiple “emotional affairs” and that she wanted to still stay married but that we should have an open marriage and live in separate houses. Yeah I filed for divorce and she lost her collective ish. Also, after I filed one of her coworkers sent me an email expressing condolences about our divorce and that she figured I would have found out eventually that my STBX and her mail coworker were having some very loud training sessions in their portables. Too bad we are in a no …

Best thing to do is to live your life and don’t give your EX any more thought than is legally required. If you are divorced…you could be dating 4 strippers and having nightly orgies and she will have nothing to say about it. Don’t give people real estate in your mind for free

We will see. We didn’t have any children, thank god, so I will not have child support. As for alimony? That is still up in the air but the reality is that she has a college degree and is well established in her career while I am running a deficit every month because I am servicing 83% of the marital debt. Nothing can be 100% where the courts are concerned but…if I do end up paying alimony it will be limited as the courts would need to come up with a way for me to pay such a fee. I will hopefully…

We will all have these days/nights, wondering if we did the right thing. My best advice is to try and focus on your kids and the life you are rebuilding. I would say “forget about your ex” but with kids that’s impossible. Best thing is t treat her like a stranger on the street. Be cordial but she doesn’t get access to you or your empire. These nights suck but hopefully focusing on your kids they will become less and less

Filed for absolute divorce yesterday and won’t get the official stamped copy until Monday. Then the real headache begins. My STBX is still hell bent on fighting over debt and money I don’t have. I know for a fact that when the courts order her to pay me the thousands she owes me, I will never see a red cent.

If you have joint accounts, get yourself separated financially. Do that Monday at the latest.

I think about the good times, however rare they were, but in retrospect they just turn to dust under the weight of I tried to provide and what I actually did. It will pass, I am sure of it. Still sucks.

Sheer hell. I would work 70 hour weeks so I would come home, eat a bowl of ramen, and need to have my shower done and settle down on the floor of the game room in my house. Not even room for an air mattress. I was literally sleeping on the floor of a house I was paying for. To top it all off my ex would barge into my room, and start verbally assaulting me and also trying to emotionally manipulate and abuse me at midnight. The day she left I was so relieved and actually excited to sleep in a real…

When my ex moved out, not going to lie I crashed out hard! But, after a month of feeling sorry for myself I put my ex out of my head and just started living the best life I could. It has been amazing! Do I know what my ex is up to? Haven’t a clue. Could I find out? I am sure I could but again, not interested. I have my own life to enjoy and do not care about hers. The past can hurt, it is a wonderful teacher, but if you dwell in the past, you will never know a peaceful future.

One thing I’ve started doing, definitely not the most healthy, is smoking a sweet cigar while walking. Tobacco is a depressant and helps with stress in certain cases. Again, it isn’t healthy and I will be stopping once I am free of my harpy ex, but I find it has helped with the stress. I have limited time for walks as I work 70-80 hour weeks. I buy the $2 cigars, the cheap ones, and they have helped me. Just sharing what I have learned in this situation.

Yup. Happened to me. My ex said “whatever you want, you can have. Just have your attorney send over the separation agreement and I will sign it.” I sent over an agreement that would greatly benefit her, I.e she didn’t have to pay her share of the marital debt, and she declined it. She countered with “you will pay me $20k and lawyer fees or we go to court!” So….to court we go. I have been the reasonable one, she has been nothing but a money grabbing leech. Everyone says “get things settled before…

My ex is doing the same stuff still. Dragging this divorce out, suing me for spousal and separation support as well as legal fees. She wants me to maintain a lifestyle for her I couldn’t afford when we were together. She refuses to acknowledge that with all the bill I pay, I am $500 short each month. I do what I can cover the gap, knowing full well she will try to suck that dry as well. What keeps me going? Yes I am dirt poor but the peace and tranquility I have when not dealing with her makes m…

You are at the bottom of the pit. You have been beaten, broken, abused, and left for dead. If you truly give up, then your harpy of an ex will win and you will prove her right. The best thing to do, I know because I have been where you are and had plenty of nights thinking about swallowing a bullet, is to start rebuilding and living you life on your terms. Listen to the music and watch the movies you want. So the hobbies and activities you’ve always wanted to do. Heck take a solo cruise, you wil…
