Nobody is forcing you to be in a relationship. Not being in one is an option that is completely open to you.

I agree that the relationship landscape as it pertains to cheating (no matter who does it) is a total shitshow. However, don’t fall into the trap of stretching beyond what you can reasonably claim. The reality looks awful enough as it is. It does not require further exaggeration, nor claiming to know things that we cannot reasonably substantiate.

Again, not entirely unsympathetic to the general position you seem to be coming from, but by definition we simply cannot know. There could be more women engaging in unaccounted for cheating (and I would tend to think this might indeed be accurate), but it could also skew in favour of men (unlikely as I would think that to be). The problem is that almost by definition, you will only know what is exposed or what people themselves admit to. Making this harder again, is that the definition of what c…

There are arguments one can make in that direction, but unfortunately there is the eternal problem that cheating almost by definition, is something people attempt to conceal. So aside from confirmed incidents, one cannot reasonably account for all of the cheating that happens in society. People are not forthcoming about it generally.

Whilst I am sympathetic to the spirit of this, I think some parts of what is presented here are overstated, or expressed poorly. And I will be fair, were the sexual marketplace skewed in favour of men to the same degree, I would largely expect similar behaviour from men (with specific exceptions). Human beings in general are rather good at thinking themselves uniquely above temptation. Often, they are either naive, not terribly self aware or full of shit in varying degrees.

Because they can. Because many men are desperate, and apparently it would seem there is a significant portion of women who are perfectly fine to engage in unethical behaviour when it benefits them.

Sounds an awful lot like prostitution with extra steps to me.

Utterly irrelevant to the argument. Even assuming I had never had any relationships, would not change a single thing about what we are discussing with regard to the broader trend between men and women in long term relationships.

I will have to leave this to others to decide whose assessment of the broader reality is more accurate here.

The most overt point to disagree with here broadly speaking is that in the context of a marriage/long term relationship, more often than not, the woman’s sexual desire for the man tends to drop, where the males tends to remain far more constant. Exceptions? Sure. But this is the broad trend.

Why is it that this ever present two step with sex persists? Sex is something presumably BOTH parties enjoy and get something out of. All too often, there is this not so well concealed underlying attitude of “sex is a chore for me, and a one way gift bestowed on the man”. As though women have no internal desire for sex themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/22 08:14 PM

I can get on board with that. Though there is still the problem of what two people consider being within the bounds of “politeness” is somewhat subjective, little to disagree with there.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 09:32 PM

The following sentence is an extremely broad generalisation. “Men ruin womens lives outside the law. Women ruin mens lives from within the law”. Thoughts?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 09:03 PM

Fair enough. Though with the additional context with regard to their employment, I stand by my position of “entitled and avoid” double.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 08:45 PM

Easy. They are entitled. They are either strong and independent, or alternatively they should be getting a job and putting their life in order before being worried about dating. I would advise any guy to avoid such women in that context.

This response is exactly what men don’t like. “If it feels like a compliment”. People cannot read your mind and know your reaction ahead of time. It either is catcalling or it isn’t. It does not depend on how you personally feel about the one doing it. And this goes both ways for men and women (obviously happens much less on one side though).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 08:25 PM

As long as you are consistent with that position, and don’t employ cries of victimhood when it isn’t convenient, then fair play to you. I actually suspect many women secretly feel this way, but to acknowledge it would take away a common line of argument. But no, especially when routinely getting around in make up, high heels and low cut tops, “I’m just doing it for me” is nonsense. Anyone who has lived with an adult female relative knows damn well that is total horseshit. When there are no exter…

For an isolated incident, perhaps. For consistently repeated behaviour? That tells you something about the likelihood of it happening again. People in general are way too trusting of this “that was the past/I’ve changed/I don’t do that anymore” thing in the face of consistent behaviour. Of course, some will genuinely make changes. The majority will not. And people don’t like either hearing this, or even realising it about themselves.

I wouldn’t say I have much of an opinion on the dichotomy you presented, but the reasoning is similar to why some hold the position of “don’t listen to dating advice from women”. Aside from other reasons (tends to be advice that works for them, not men as well as often being pleasant sounding nonsense that doesn’t actually align with reality to a significant degree), there is the question of someone who has to actively work to gain someone’s interest versus one who can take the passive role whil…

Until they get married and become bored. Then they seem to be extremely fond of sex. Just not with their husband.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
