This: "If you believe you are a good man, with an edge, you are most likely self-rationalizing your weakness..." It used to shock me how often people rationalize lack of options as loyalty. After seeing it year after year, day after day in people' personal and professional lives, I now think most people can't swallow TRP. It would shatter their own self-image.

This is an odd critique, not very well thought through, here's why: You seem to misunderstand Peterson's position on enforced monogamy, his point is simple: if there is a bell curve distribution of men (wrt SMV, although he doesn't use that term). Thanks for sharing, I went through similar upbringing with a BP father and it took me a long time to get out of it, my suggestions: 1) Read the sidebar thoroughly, keep coming back to it regularly. 2) Listen to podcasts/ lectures by Jocko Willink and Jordan B. Some comments: 1) Read the sidebar material, multiple times, then read it again. 2) Congrats on dodging a bullet with the BPD gf, many of us have been there. 3) Do not shit where you eat. One more thing, learning a martial art (jiu Jitsu & boxing are great starting points) naturally brings confidence and skills in visualization. Knowing that you can pound/ choke someone into submission (if required) gives you a primal confidence that no amount of faking it can bring.
