Something that I just wrote in another thread: make it a goal to find a "fulfillment hack". Attach your fulfillment to something that can never change and can never be taken away from you.

It's a good question. I'd say find your fulfillment hack. Wherever you derive fulfillment from, your fulfillment will become dependent on that as a condition. Derive fulfillment from a career, your fulfillment will depend on your career as a condition. If your career changes or is taken away, your fulfillment goes with it. Derive fulfillment from your male role, your fulfillment will depend on the role as a condition. If that role changes or is taken away, your fulfillment goes with it. The prob…

Amen. I never really considered that it's pretty much classical pavlovian conditioning but it's true and it's everywhere: texting, social networking, porn, etc. We're a society of lab rats in the biggest dopamine experiment ever made.

Women communicate in ways that men don't. The question "why are you so quiet" is RARELY out of genuine concern for you as much as she wants to inform you that she's (mis?)detected weakness and now she's prodding you. Even knowing this, I will always assume the best and answer as if it's a sincere question. If that person was sincere, then great, she's just being nice. If that person wasn't being sincere, it might dawn on them that veiled questions like that make them a fake piece of shit.

How do you guys substitute a lottery ticket? They can provide you with millions of dollars. The ssumption here being that "wife" converts to "valuable companionship". A wife's companionship often becomes something you learn to manage. Often, having some peace and quiet away from your wife is a reward. Think about that: when you're married, being alone... becomes a reward. Can you make it through marriage enjoying your wife's companionship? Sure, and the rest of the couples will glare with envy, …

Well said, but I didn't actually mean "ignore reality", but to see reality for what it is, and ignore the imaginary thoughts about how it "should have been". Everything else I agree with though.

I actually didn't know that. I'll have to look into it.

It might be uncommon because it can be interpreted many different ways. Some moron could stumble upon this and read it as "Do drugs? Well oxycodone is a drug, so do oxys and get even stupider? ok" What you seem to mean is do drugs that are associated with some introspective value such as cannabis or psylocybin.

That's part of it, but it gets worse. There's an argument to be made that some law enforcement agents treat citizens from outside racial groups unfairly. The idiocy in BLM is in implying that cops = white, citizens = black, and that police brutality is a race issue instead of an issue about policies that produce shitty law enforcement officials. The best way to destroy that argument is to take a group of obnoxious twats and direct the anger away from law enforcement and towards other members of …
