I always find this discussion hilarious. "You need to make sure you get verbal consent" is essentially saying, "women are too weak to tell somebody 'no' if they make a move on them." They can dress it up however they want, but that's the only excuse for trying to enforce full, verbal consent before every sexual encounter.

It's perfectly fine to not like cooking, and to not read at all in your spare time. But it's unattractive to dismiss them out of hand. Idk, his assessment seemed fair to me. Cooking is easy. Like, really easy. I tend to look down on people who joke about how bad they are at it because seriously, all it takes is a little effort. And you know what? It can be enjoyable. It's like people who joke about hating books. That's not to say if a woman doesn't cook that she's not worth any time, it's just an attractive quality that is indicative of a well rounded person.

At the risk of sounding douchy, that's not true across the board. Some men don't like to chase, and instead have reactive desires. The thing is, those guys are fucked because the game is set up for guys who chase, and either type of women. For the last two decades the idea of women being able to be aggressive if they want has been made popular, but nobody gives a shit about the guys who like being passive. I remember there was one study where they asked women to do a survey, then asked them about their answers. Several women reported low numbers of sexual partners, then later explained they didn't count one-night stands or non-vaginal intercourse in that number. Hence, it was much lower than it should have been.

Something worth nothing though, is that no less than 40% of women admitted to initially rebuffing sexual advances or saying "no" when they intended to say yes later. That's one of the main reasons the "no doesn't always mean no" idea has spread.

It matters because we've decided that 15 is not old enough to give consent. Personal feelings about whether or not that's true are irrelevant. The rules need to be the same across the board. That's a very bad line of thinking. If a woman reports a rape, then quickly withdraws the claim, the police will simply drop the case. They're not going to suddenly throw her in jail. A false rape is only a crime when it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the women knowingly lied to the police, the court etc.

I wrote up a reply to this, but apparently my computer decided not to post it. Basically, yes, it is possible that should people might misunderstand the point of the thread...but for every one person without common sense, there are four with it. And I think (hope to god) that the warnings at the end would deter people from taking it too far.
