Very high heels are biomechanically and orthopedically unsound. They cause a higher incidence of degenerative joint disease of the knees. This is because they cause a decrease in the normal rotation of the foot, which puts more rotation stress on the knee. They increase likelihood of sprains and fractures They can create foot deformities, including hammertoes and bunions, blisters, corns, Morton's neuroma, plantar fasciitis and many other medical conditions. Not to mention PAIN. Foot binding and …

As someone who has been married four times, I endorse this idea.

I'm still trying to understand why slobbering drunkenness is deemed attractive by either gender. Sometimes I think if people used alcohol more sanely, drugs would have been legalized by now. A lot of people think now the pot smokers are going to get sky high and go out and drive and kill even more people.

You make some excellent points there. Part of the price of equality and empowerment is, well...equality. It just doesn't make sense for the man to foot the bill for everything on a date unless he specifically offers to do it with no expectations of "reimbursement" from the woman. Like if I take my daughter to lunch and a movie, I don't expect her to pay me back, something which is understood in advance by both parties. Otherwise why should the man shoulder all of the expense. He works hard for h…

True. Most people had more pressing matters on their minds. What I do lament is the decline of consideration and manners. Not etiquette (which fork to use type stuff), but politeness and genuine consideration for the feelings and comfort of others.

Some jobs requires specific physical attributes so an employer would be an idiot if he hired people unfit for the job (e.g. hire a mover who pointedly doesn't want to move stuff). Otherwise equal pay=equal work. I've never worked in a job where the females did not do the same work as the males. This is such a no-brainer.

That's despicable.

First of all, "Not the cutest girl ever" has nothing at all to do with happiness in a relationship. I used to be rather nice looking and while it helped getting dates, it wasn't till I got older and loss the luster that I found a wonderful man and became very very happy. Impatience can be semi-cured. At some time when he is in a calm, receptive mood, gently and patiently explain (without being accusatory) that when he does it, it makes you nervous, and puts you in a cross mood and you normally l…

Positive reinforcement really works best in the long run but you have to have something to work with. If you're married to a disgusting pig with no manners, no compassion, and bad hygiene, throw him/her out and start over.

This is why you need to screen your partners for stupidity, selfishness and a mean streak. Honestly, I don't know how guys can have sex with girls they hardly know. If I were a male, I would want rock solid evidence of birth control before I would gamble my life away.

The first thing I thought when I read this was "Why is this only advice for boys, and not girls also?" This thinking is in part a "cultural relic". Girls can beat and kill a person almost as well as a guy but statistically speaking, males are larger and have more upper body strength and in any impromptu altercation the female is at a disadvantage.( I'm not a tiny female but I have never dated a man I was stronger than). But the advice about leaving immediately is excellent advice, regardless of …

Bingo! The goal should be to guide the child in matters such as ethics and let the biological (gender) behavior emerge on it's own. Most children express preferences fairly early and since these are entirely unconscious decisions, the parent should mostly get out of the way.

Some people can't take a hint. You can't make someone love you no matter how you feel, how much you love them, how good it once was, how he/she is making a big mistake, and you're so much better than the new person in their life etc etc etc., even it all that was true. If the other person no longer feels it, the relationship is done. For some reason females seem to have more trouble with this fact. Anyhow, no how much it hurts, it's always best to bow out with dignity, and be remembered as someb…

Life is about choices and living with the consequences. Applies to both sexes. No bias should be tolerated and gender should not be used as an excuse for preferential treatment.

There's good sex and there's "junk" sex. (like food). Maybe attitudes are changing and it will be seen as more sophisticated to be a little more discerning about one's partners. Quality over quantity. After all, it was once seen as a positive thing to be fat. Now it has an air of weakness and excess.

That's true. Ugh! At least a lot of places have the automatic toilet flush so you don't enter a stall to find a floating turd in the bowl. What kind of disgusting moron poops in a toilet (especially a public toilet) and walks away without flushing?

People who find themselves in an intimate situation with someone who is "neither selective nor cautious" ought not depend on that party for contraception. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on a male to take their "pills", and if I were a man I would not necessarily trust the female to do so.

As a woman I think this is a tremendous development! Now if a man really really wants to ensure his partner(s) will not get pregnant, he will have an additional option for contraception. The biggest problem is people who are fertile and use no contraception at all. Have the seen the "Maury Show"? Day in, day out, "Who's the daddy?", because these fools are very promiscuous and haven't a clue.

So much for the unchanging state of basic "human nature". When I was in HS such things were practically unthinkable and I have yet to personally ever see 2 girls fighting. Oh we "heard" about such things but the actual live event was very rare. I dread to think what this means about current society. Women have risen so much higher and at the same time sunk so much lower.

Been around for a while and have had an unwelcome grope or two but to consider that an assault would be ridiculous. Rude yes. Inconsiderate yes. Creepy yes. Boorish yes. Assault ? Not even close. I hate to listen to women complain like they have PTSD from a minor incident that normal women would rebuff and brush off as the action of a ill mannered clown. And I have pretty high standards for manners from men

Lol, I'm not a guy but if I was, I would be wary of having to rely on the woman to have 100% foolproof contraception. Even if she said she was on the pill...how often has that situation gone wrong? Of course it's rarely 100% safe to have sex. But if both partners are using the maximum protection, chances of an unwelcome surprise are much slimmer.

See this is why we need a male contraceptive. Both partners should view EACH AND EVERY sexual encounter as a possible pregnancy, and the lifetime of expense and commitment it entails. Because that's what it is. Each partner should be able to know they have done the maximum to ensure there will be no pregnancy. And with the female holding those cards, you guys are putting your futures in jeopardy.

I would burst out laughing when I saw those commercials but I heard they really boosted Axe sales. Tells me men are just as suseptible as women are to ads that imply this product will somehow make you more interesting to the opposite sex. Women's magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair are like 99.9% ads and 99.9% of the ads are for things most men would never even notice.

I happen to like Victorian lit so I stuck with that book and it haunted me for a while. You can put up with other peoples faults when it's things like messiness, procrastination, bad at math, no fashion sense, can't tell jokes, needs to lose 15 lbs., etc. etc. but when someone toys with your feelings, get out fast and let them know why. You MIGHT give them a second chance sometime but "fool me once..." etc.

It seems like men have trouble staying monogamous because they are "always on" and every attractive female gets them going. Women often have trouble because they quickly become bored in monogamy and need the thrill of someone new to get them going. Marriage calls for commitment and understanding on both sides. I'm sure her spouse she put out this info so he can leave with a clear conscience and find someone less selfish (and maybe better looking; she ain't all that).

Any body remember the movie "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" with Marilyn Monroe? Well it's silly fluff but the short little book it's based on is a wonder. It's the diary of a dumb blond gold-digger. Razor sharp and very funny. James Joyce said he read it for "three whole days', and George Santayana called it "The best book on philosophy written by an American."

God grief! Being "deferential" doesn't mean you're "bland"! It means you don't have the manners of an ape or a 12 year old. Just give her a smile and note her reaction. Wait a while and try it again. If she seems interested approach and play it safe ("deferential" and well-mannered) till you find out what her story is. That way you don't cut yourself out before she has a chance to assess you too. Then after you've got your foot in the door you can relax and see if she's worth pursuing. (This app…
