I agree with you that it's both, but I think you've read it the wrong way around. At first, she was worried that he was too high SMV to be interested in her - out of her league. She wanted to know how high his SMV was, and to check he was actually there for her (testing to see beta traits for coupling behaviour). When he didn't cave to that, she wanted to test his frame, so it became a shit test.

This is also in the face of heavy immigration to the UK Have you actually been to the UK? Whilst shitrags like the Daily Mail will say that the country is overrun by immigrants, it really isn't the case. The areas of my city that I avoid are predominantly white British, and full of third-generation unemployed benefits claimants. The immigrants I know all work, because that's what economic migration is.

This is one area which I've really improved on in the last year, and it came after shedding the ego. Generally, my attention is split between two things: in a conversation with male friends, it's what is being said, and how people are reacting to it. I don't think about what I want to say next unless something comes naturally, at which point my attention is split between what I'm saying and what the point I am trying to reach is. When talking to females, especially on a date, I split my attentio…

I spent a day shadowing a City of London sales banker, and I could see him doing everything that you've said you do. Whether you're running an eBay store or selling bonds worth millions, good salesmanship is good salesmanship. His suit might have been more expensive than yours, but he joked about having to fight Blomberg for free umbrellas.

This sounds like a classic case of he-said/she-said, she says she was crying and saying no, but was that actually what happened, or just what she claimed? Certainly, if she says no, stop. But if you have consensual sex and she changes her mind the next day and accuses you of rape, you're pretty fucked. This is why OP said "be very wary of who you stick your dick in", because if you stick your dick in the girl who cries "wolf", you can ruin your life because you had consensual sex.

The AF husband who gives his job a higher priority than to helping out his wife is more attractive than the BB husband who helps out his wife do all the work. traditional couples ... I disagree with you slightly on this. To explain why, I'll describe my family background: My parents have been dating since they were teenagers, married since their 20s. Before their first child, both worked hard full time jobs (nurse and network contractor), and when they moved in together, my dad had certain expec…

And if I interpret correctly, what you're saying is that you'll be unhappy without that validation. No, you've misinterpreted me. What I'm saying is that whilst internal hapiness is important, it is not so important that your life should be a mess of drugs and unhealthy habits "because I enjoy living in front of the TV eating junk food". It is more important to be healthy and successful than to be content/happy with how you are. If being happy is all that matters, I'm sure that the landwhales ov…

Self esteem became the ultimate 90's buzzword... I'm not sure if I'm reading you right, but it seems you're saying that self esteem is a bad thing. From the definition "confidence in one's own worth or abilities; self-respect", then it seems like one of the qualities that is encouraged here. However there is a caveat there: Value/worth is more important than self-esteem. If you are a high value individual, self esteem will come naturally if you are in touch with reality, so the RP teaching is to…

The problem with aiming for hapiness is that in 100 years time, who will know you were alive? If you don't have children, then it's entirely possible that 100 years from now, there will be no evidence that you ever existed. If you are fine with that, then I respect that decision. I'm not fine with that for myself. I have an ego, and my ego wants people to recognise me, to know of me. Whether I achieve that through my career, or just through achieving my most basic biological directive of having …

That varies from person to person. The first thing is to sort out the physical side. If you're physically healthy, you're more mentally resilient. I guess the next step is mindfulness, living in the moment. Rather than waiting to enjoy yourself until you have a new car/house/job/girlfriend, find something about right now to enjoy. Enjoy working and saving up towards the new house, enjoy doing sport, enjoy going drinking with your friends, and focus on the good. It sounds a lot like hippy mumbo-j…

Okay, I'll bite. What are these "real riches" you talk of? Happiness? Something vague and immeasurable, so you can't fail to obtain it so long as it's your primary goal?

Mental health is something which is easy to overlook. Just like your body needs to be looked after (training and resting, eating and sleeping properly), your mind needs to be looked after too. If you have poor physical habits (overeating, underexercising), you're going to have an unhealthy body and be unattractive. Similarly, if you have poor mental habits (lack of self control, negative thought patterns), you're going to have an unhealthy mind (depression symptoms) and women will be unlikely to…

I was going to post a link to this same data, but went cycling instead. I like your analysis, but I would take something more away from it: If you don't play the game, you can't win it. men are reaching out to women 17 percentile points more attractive, and women contact men who are 10 percentile points more attractive If you sit and wait for first contact, you'll have women who are up to 10 pp below you. If you're reaching out, you'll have a chance with women 17 pp above you. If you want to ban…

Change is inevitable. Completely on board with you on that. However, I don't see why believing in thermodynamics (net increase of entropy, hence change) means that we can't live as men in a time where we are still genetically programmed to do so. As long as men have high testosterone, and women respond to strong males, then TRP will have relevance. You don't understand the difference between things you can control and things you can't. But this whole post is saying "this thing you thought you can't control is actually within your control". Maybe I'm just used to pushing myself harder, but if I go for a 30 minute run, my heart rate averages over 160, with a final peak often over 180 for longer than 30s. If I'm doing intervals, my heart rate will hit 180 during the effort, and drop to 120 at the end of the rest.

Why settle for average? You shouldn't be happy with an average body, an average wage, or an average partner, so why should an average penis be enough?

One of the 48 laws of power: think what you want, but act as others do You're probably doing the right thing by not dating, but if you say "I don't have one at the moment", you're not lying, and not making yourself a target. By saying that you're doing your own thing, you make yourself a target to them, so they criticise you for not dating. Sure, it doesn't matter what they think of you, but it's nice to go to a bar and not have to put up with dramatic bitches.

Ah, what I didn't mention is that I am very aware of my weaknesses- and drinking stops me from knowing my limits. Sober me can say "when I reach this point, I should stop drinking", but that point is when I start to think "one more drink won't hurt", and things go downhill rapidly from there. I don't miss alcohol in my life. I have more clarity of mind without it, I get to use my weekend mornings productively, and I save a lot of money. For me, not drinking has been the right decision.

I don't like arguing on Reddit, so I'll make my point and not take it any further: The "force" from your punches and kicks comes from transfer of the momentum behind them. That's why heavyweight boxers can hit harder than featherweight boxers. If the "force" came from acceleration, then a fist moving at constant speed when it hits wouldn't hurt. Instead it's about impulse- how much momentum is transferred and how quickly: Like if you fall, if you can slow yourself down slowly (parachute, etc), y…

Mostly, I have an IDGaF attitude. However, if I've noticed a woman for sexual reasons (ie: attractive and not sleeping with one of my friends), I'll make sure to pay attention to my interactions- kino, escalation and flirting, basic game. If she's not someone I would sleep with (fucking a friend or ugly), I'll treat her the same as a man who brings the same amount to our social group. My personal guide is whether I'm acting to gain approval from my peers, or acting to perform the actions, sort of chicken and egg. I do what I want, not what my friends want to watch. When I cook, I allow my housemates to try what I make, and accept their praise (and criticisms), but I don't seek them out for opinions.

when men seek personal and moral validation from women, they become lesser men. if you need that, talk to god. I would change that to: when men seek personal and moral validation from others, they become lesser men. if you need that, talk to god. Let your metric be your success. We have one of the highest unemployment rates of our history: 12%. Source? I'm seeing 6.8% from World Bank. Our economy is in recession. Our external debt raised do absurd levels. Which explains why unemployment is falling, almost 50% lower than 10 years ago? National debt increasing is just part of capitalism, part of the system that we've chosen by chasing our own interests. I have a friend in the military who joked about identifying as a woman just to be able to use the women's changing rooms, and compete in women's categories athletically. As long as you put yourself across as if you're serious, you can just cry "discrimination" or "transphobia" if you don't get what you want. A great reason why the system of dividing by "gender" (read: What you say you are) instead of "sex" (read: What you actually are, biologically) is bullshit.

Anything physical. In secondary school (UK, ages 11-16), I played rugby, got in fights, etc. In my free time, at 14, I took up sprint and marathon kayaking. Funnily enough, I was thinking the opposite- I went to an all boys school, and as a result, by the age of 15, I was hopeless with girls. Patriachy- Because I'm sure no comp sci undergrads want more females on their course. /s I can guarantee you that from the top down, at all levels, computer scientist would love more women to study- so how can feminazis claim that there is pressure against them studying computer science! I can see that there is some pressure against physics- a friend on my course was genuinely asked by an OFSTED (UK schools grading system) inspector "Why are you in physics, you're a girl?".

Anything you fucking enjoy. It needs to be something that you can be passionate about. If it turns out you fucking love sitting next to a river, staring at a fishing rod all fucking day, then you should do that. TRP is a philosophy, not a guidebook. In other words, TRP is not "Living life: A guide for retards" Or anything like that.

needing her to drive me to the date? Would you be able to get there without her? If so, you don't need her to drive you. She's providing a service for you, conveniencing you, but you can get by without her. It's like "How do I stay alpha male if I need to fuck her?" You don't. If you create a necessity, that's not alpha, but you shouldn't need to fuck her, you shouldn't act like you need to, because you don't. Don't act like you need her to give you a lift, because need is a slippery slope.

It's interesting that you said POSIX compliant, because I thought you were taking about Mac, but according to my reading of Wikipedia, OSX isn't POSIX compliant.

OSX is vastly superior to Windows- things like SSH built in by default, but given that there are Linux distributions which are easy to use, which would run on a £100 box, Mac is a bad choice for most day to day users.

The mods are removing a lot of stuff- so, like many, I've abandoned it. I don't reallly know what's happening there these days- 8chan seems to have been chosen as the next step.

If I'm trying to keep to my diet, I'll usually just ask for a extra-thin slice, poke it with my fork a few times while I'm talking to people, and then a few minutes later put it on the counter and forget about it. I have got so much respect for that self-control- I know that if I tried that, I would end up eating at least the small slice, possibly another one. So here you are, congratulations on your discipline!

it amounts to: And that's exactly what those things mean, in context. Except, that would make it look like the SJWs, who destroyed a competition to launch indie games, as well as causing all kindsa other shit in this case, were a group who are bad to associate with. Heck, if you said it like that, it would look like the white cis-males were wronged by the trans-retard pink hair freaks.Which totally didn't happen, because they never do anything wrong! /s

From behind the keyboard, everyone thinks they're the 7ft tall superheavyweight boxing champ. At least, they all type like it. Believe it or not, 4chan, until their recent change of mods, was a pretty red pill place. They idolised the alphas, and saw that being alpha was the way to get laid. Now, it's basically tumblr2.0.

But Macs can do so much more than Windows machines... Assuming your Windows machine is 10 years old and neglected. For the same hardware specs, a mac literally costs double a windows machine, on Intel Chips (only comparing laptops). But DAMN, that logo. Not even a full Apple, but still worth £500!

don't have to pay for her pussy with marriage. This is a great phrase- especially when women hate the idea that they are willing to trade things for sex, because they like to act like sex is the highest valued commodity out there.

It means that rather than saying "come to my island", you just be your awesome island, as such. Rather than being beta with pick up, be alpha.

Just for anyone wondering what the distinction is, "whom" is used as the object of a verb- it is if you want to know whom the verb is being done to, eg: Whom did you post it to? I posted it to him. Who posted you that? She posted it to me. Any time where the answer could be I, he, she, we, or they, then the preposition is who. When the answer could be me, him, her, us or them, then the preposition is whom.

Do these guns look submissive to you /shows skinny arms Actually, yes. She looks like all she really needs is a real man to give her a night to remember, instead of all the betas chasing her "I really like your shitty contentless youtube videos" Disclaimer: That's my opinion. If you're offended, feel free to press Alt+F4, or CMD+Q if you're on a Mac.

It's only racism if it discriminates against non-whites. It's only sexism if it discriminates against non-males.

Yeah, I love how she's too far up her own ass to realize that's she's too stupid to know about things like this. Also, when you post wikipedia links, remove the m, so it's just http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_fever. That way, people on PCs don't get to the mobile wikipedia site, but it automatically redirects people on mobiles.

it's not subject to politics or popularity I wish. So many theories, now proven true, were initially rejected on the basis of "you disagree with us, and I've been doing this longer than you". Take Feynman for example. His methods for calculations in quantum interactions took a fraction of the time that the alternatives took, and removed the problems of diverging infinite terms, but also produced a current result to the method used at the time, so he was ridiculed. Now his method is standard, but…

Tenured professors are a bad example- they have no reason to do anything spectacular, they can churn out run-of-the-mill papers.

That's a little cheaper than England, it's about $22 AUD over here, but equally, a new release DVD is only the equivalent of $25.

I was trying to explain it as if you weren't competent in physics. I'm a physics student, and I don't even tell people the correct value of c. I know it is 108 , I was just being stupid.

That's like saying "people who wear white T-shirts should not be subject to negativity", if someone's fat, it's their choice. Losing weight isn't hard, keeping in shape isn't hard.

Off-topic It doesn't set the speed of light as the fastest speed. My understanding of special relativity is that nothing in an inertial frame of reference can move faster than light does in a vacuum. That is to say, the speed of a particle relative to the space around it cannot exceed 3*1028 ms-1 At least, this an indirect affect of it, as mass increases with speed.

I tend to look at the "new" section, and TRP seems to be mainly patting ourselves on the back- "I fucked a slut, we're the be" sort of thing. I'm not saying that TRP philosophy doesn't work, I'm saying that this sort of thing should be on /r/TRPcirclejerk, unless it has something productive to say about TRP theory. Edit: also, I would put the meta tag on this, not TRP theory.

Watch English shows on YouTube or something, you'd be surprised how quick you pick it up. I spent a week in Portugal last month, and just watching tv and having some basic Spanish helped me pick up some Portuguese.
