I’m not sure why you’re typing ‘marriageable’ out like that. People have standards. Men have standards for their partners and women have standards for theirs. Why would I start a relationship with someone who has no drive? Why would I marry someone who doesn’t know how to manage money? Why would I marry someone who I wasn’t attracted to? Why would I marry someone who I think is stupid? People have standards. You think all women are sitting around waiting on some millionaire Casanova. When that’s…

I think men who leave their sick wives are disgusting. And I think women who leave their husband due to job lose are deplorable. People just don’t value their marriages anymore. I think it has something to do with how marriage and love is portrayed in media and the fact that we as a society have become more superficial. I think due to social media

While I agree with the sentiment, it’s still “shallow” to have requirements that = a physical trait and that’s the only thing you care about. A relationship Only based on looks is hardly something to consider a relationship. IMO. There’s more to a person than their looks, and objectively that’s more important for a LTR.

Those are all really cool! But I am in the category that would be bored doing those hobbies. But I think apt of people aren’t willing to branch out and try new hobbies

I think it’s fair to say most people are boring. Unless you are interested in the same things.

Um..... no. Most people who marry high school sweet hearts end up divorced. Cute sentiment, but they were kids when they met. Not even gonna comment on the middle school part. And even after college, people are still lovable, it just depends on the person.

Those can also be dangerous for the mother and baby.

Well I’m not Muslim, and neither is he. Also he wouldn’t beat me, he’s a good man. And I can defend my self thank you. Also a hijab is a head covering/scarf, so it wouldn’t cover any facial bruises or markings. But glasses are a good way to cover, but it’s rude to wear them when it’s dark or inside!

My boyfriend is amazing and treats me right, he’s my best friend and we talk about and do everything together. You should really consider bringing more positivity into your life.

Honestly race shouldn’t matter. I think there’s a lot of black men that get shit on for dating outside of the black community. My boyfriend is Arab and he got shit for dating me(a white woman)

Mary Edwards Walker- first woman to be awarded the Medal of Honor, she preformed surgery on the battlefield of the Civil War. She was prisoner of war and saved many soldiers lives. And what country do you live in? Women pay into taxes as well, and most countries allow women in the military, police force, Heath cars/EMT, fire fighters ect. So if they can/do all that, why tf would they owe you or any man anything if they didn’t find a mutual attraction?

.....women not wanting to have sex with you isn’t oppression or torture... you know you don’t have to listen if you don’t want to? You know when don’t have to have sex with you right? Oppression of half the world makes no sense, women have made major contributions to society outside of motherhood. Treating women like “bitches” is idiotic and does no good.

Well in my opinion, there are none. People aren’t card board cut outs who want the same things. A crowd of women are going to want different things, different preference of partners, different passions and a different ideas for a happy future. Same with men. Once you stop looking at relationships and dating as a game it might be more successful in finding a partner that you’ll be happy with. Now, if you look at marriage from the traditional point of view, a women will typically become financiall…

I think you should work on your insecurities, I can’t tell you if she does or not obviously, but as you both grow your relationship, it’s important to be secure in it as well, not because of what you gave to her, but that she is there out of love. It makes me happy to hear that you do love her, bc plenty of men on reddit make it seem they don’t love their partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 11:00 PM
1

So Is your relationship based on love or an exchange?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 10:44 PM
1

I’d say it’s fair to assume your not confident if you feel like it’s not good enough for your partner. Obviously she likes your true self if she is still with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 10:29 PM
1

It sounds to me that you need to work on your “true self” and build up some confidence in your real self.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 10:17 PM
1

Are you able to be your true self with her?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 10:05 PM
1

I grew up very fearful of men, and as an adult Ik not all men/people are bad and want to hurt me, but I also know that not everyone is nice. Better be safe then sorry. I try not to be unpleasant, but if it’s me walking home on an empty street and your male and talking to me, I will try to leave the situation as fast as possible. I can’t fight and win against a male, so it’s better to avoid it then be confronted.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 09:59 PM
1

So you did change, and it seems like you’re not happy with it. You can’t go a decade, especially your 20s, and not change some what. It seems like you just changed your self to fit into a niche to be successful, but their is no success in being a facade and being unhappy. Did becoming wealthy make you happy? Do you feel good at the end of a days work? Or is it all just stressful and makes you unhappy?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 09:54 PM
3

You said your I your 30s? And you went over a decade without changing? There weren’t any challenges or stages that you went through that would make you change at all? I find that hard to believe.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 09:47 PM
2

If you haven’t change at all since you were 19 then you have failed at life. Life is about personal growth (outside from “success”)
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 09:31 PM

“Would” as in you didn’t know them? I think it depends on the circumstances and the reasoning. Bc I wouldn’t date me as a teen either, I was cringe af😭
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 09:27 PM
2

It matters for a few reasons. Personally promiscuous people in general (man or woman) I don’t like and I wouldn’t date someone like that either. It’s just gross in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 08:50 PM

I’m sure if you looked at them subjectively you could tell if they’re a good partner.

Being “divorce raped” doesn’t happen all the time, and as long as you pick a good wife then you really shouldn’t have to worry about it Edit:alright I’ll admit that it really isn’t that cut-&-dry, I just always thought that the women who are willing to take all they can are the ones who in the start would be very gold-digger-ish
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 08:18 PM

I think it’s up to who’s work is bringing in the most income.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/20 09:02 PM

As a society: both genders should be looked at as equally important members of society (bc they are) and then with in families it’ll be case by case. Now, women on average are more willing to put the feelings of others before there own, and that could have a big affect on what your talking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/20 08:48 PM
1

Well, promiscuity has been a thing sense forever, you know what they say about prostitution, the oldest and still going trades. But it was never socially expectable. And a “respectable person” wouldn’t partake in them. And part of what made it so enticing was the taboo factor, as well as just wanting sex. But what’s new is how excepting and expecting it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/20 04:39 AM
7

That may be person dependent as well. But for humans sexual is sentimental. It’s personal and intimate, if you share that level of intimacy with the same person, over time, even if y’all both say “no strings attached”, someone will get attached.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/20 02:45 AM
3

Eh that’s the iffy thing. The more partners = higher rate. Which varies from person to person. It’s around 7ish though.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/20 09:22 PM
2

That’s actually pretty neat. I think it’s still to soon to tell really. I’m on the older side of Gen Z, and the younger ones that are still in HS and Middle school are still growing and changing. Personally, I don’t do socialism, I think it’s a bad idea to make college free, and health care (while it should be made more affordable) shouldn’t be either. And it can be made cheaper if we cut out the middle man: insurance.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/20 08:15 PM

They are more picky, on average. That’s not say that there aren’t men who are just as picky. Statistics also have outliers. And the qualifications can vary person to persons

I can’t stand it if a guy doesn’t take care of their hygiene. If you smell bad, have bad breath, wear the same nasty clothes every day, then GTFO. And honestly, that goes for anyone in my life, friends and family included. My BF wears his fancy colognes, and enjoys taking care of his hygiene which I appreciate so much, he don’t even know!

I will say that it depends on how you look at it and from which discipline. Psychologically speaking, the more partners you have, the more likely you are to depend on substances later in life, as well as not being able to have more meaning and emotionally fulfilling relationships. Of course this was a study done with 1000 New Zealandeds, which the culture has to be a counter as a possible factor in this. Bc other studies show higher rates of depression and/or anxiety. And I’d say we’re a tournam…

People drink to feel less nervous at parties in general. It’s not to have sex, usually. At the end of the day, what you said was creepy, and college parties are filled with predatory people. And you’re probably right about us never meeting even at the same school.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/20 04:18 AM

Drinking doesn’t make it easier to make sound choices. What the actual hell is wrong with you. I’m reading this as a college aged female, you’re the type of guy that I would avoid at all costs. I’m not reading this with a creepy lens, you’re just creepy.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/20 04:00 AM

I get 20 somethings like to drink, but you saying that it’s a good thing to get rid of that inhibition, comes of so fucking creepy dude. Drinking makes it harder for you to make sound choices, thats why in a court of law it’s categorized as rape, if both parties are drunk then yes, you actually did violate each other. Bc you can’t consent either.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/20 01:05 PM

Are you sure you wanna stand on that rock? Are you proud to say that the only real reason women are willing to have sex with you is if they have some liquor in them? So the only reason people are having sex is because they are inhibiting their brain’s ability to think and make sound decisions? If that’s the case, then maybe people should stop drinking.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/20 03:38 AM
-1

Alrighty, but if they are drunk then that’s classified as rape.... and can be tried in a court of law. Soooo if that’s what OP did then that’s a big no no.

I speak for myself, and I believe that my partners career should be respectable, which honestly, is most, nothing I find moral bankrupt. That his income is enough to be comfortable, and help support a family. I also put stock into their hobbies, bc that’s what he’ll be wanting to do when he’s retired, and his career is over, ya know? Also if our personalities match up, and all the other complexities.

I would never condone being rude, or anything of the sort! I do think the treatment process is lost? Misguided? When it comes to gender fluidity I think it has a habit of contradicting transgenderism (rejecting gender norms and the other group wanting to be the opposite gender and conform to its stereotypes)
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/20 06:45 AM

I agree, but I do think it posses an issue for society when we look at the acceptance and lack of questioning of treatment.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/20 06:38 AM

Thank you! I do too. There’s a lot of conversations to be had, particularly in mental health, that aren’t. It’s like society took hold of modern mental health and the professionals are kinda just passengers.

Interesting that you mention schizophrenia, that’s one of the mental illnesses that appears in trans people at higher rates. I’m not sure if they relate to each other or not. But it’s still concerning and interesting considering how rare both conditions are. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/schizort/2014/463757/
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/20 06:36 AM

I believe that’s a good way look at it. But I see an issue in comparing such different mental health issues. None can be treated the same way and we know more about ADD than Gender dysphoria. I’m mostly concerned at how little we know, but how certain we are in the treatments
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/20 06:32 AM

I think the best course would be Proper and intense therapy and possible psychiatric medications if one was found to be helpful. I’m not sure where the disconnect is, or if it’s a behavioral issue or a chemical issue. So much we don’t know about gender dysphoria. Body and gender dysphoria are very similar, just different symptoms.

I don’t think either are attractive. Both made poor decisions. Having a high count isn’t a good thing and shouldn’t be regarded as such

/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 10:22 AM

That’d still make us a monogamous species, in the animal kingdom at least. If two parties stay committed to each other for an extended amount of time, even if they later split, they’d still be a monogamous pair.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 10:20 AM
2

We are definitely socially monogamist, but there has to be a biological level to it, again, are babies are so helpless, and would take so much time and energy for The mother that she’d need the help of the partner, and they’d want to do it to insure that baby reaches maturity. And being tournament species doesn’t mean we’d not be monogamous, it just means we’re competitive in mating. Which can still be monogamous. And I will agree with the second half, I do just find it concerning that some peop…

I will! I’m really getting into the meet of it this semester. And so far learning about evolution really helps to look at human interactions in a more digestible way, when you take yourself out of the complexity and “observe it”. Evolutionary Psychology is a crazy field of study. And I love this subreddit for how much more open it is to honest discussions.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 02:29 AM

What types of behavior would make it appear that we had monogamy? It’s really hard to understand their social dynamics, we really only see a true “culture” with in Homo-naledi(debated) and in Homo-Neanderthal. And they make assumptions based on cranial capacity.

That’s a good point. I read this like an hour ago, but I think it’s a good read and it backs up that theory in a sense. I think our culture has a huge impact in it. But id say pair bonding for the survival of a child is a big thing bc human babies are like, useless. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/busting-myths-about-human-nature/201205/marriage-and-pair-bonds%3famp

Yea, I agree. I think humans forget evolution due to how far we’ve come in tech and knowledge. Culture has a huge impact, but some instincts are kinda hard to fight against.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 01:36 AM

I’m not sure why you think relationships are nothing more than that. To marry someone and love someone, you have to still enjoy being with them on a deeper level

A baby ape is definitely better suited for surviving than a human baby, and I don’t think we have enough information on our evolution to give a solid answer as to when. But just bc we are genetically close to chimps & bonobos doesn’t mean we will act similar. They are much more similar to each other, but they act completely different, an example being that chimps are quicker to go to “war” while Bonobos are quicker to have sex. And it’s not like we developed from modern apes, we branched off mil…

And that’s sad on society’s part, but it’s still a huge part in men’s biology
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 12:19 AM

I think that it’s more of a cultural thing. I think especially with Western countries our divorce rates are super high, which creat “broken homes” and can leave a bitter taste in a persons mind. I think this article is a good read: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/busting-myths-about-human-nature/201205/marriage-and-pair-bonds%3famp

It does. It 100% does. Love, marriage and relationships are so much more than being attractive and/or wealthy.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 12:12 AM

Humans are a pair bond species, men on a biological level will want to help raise the child to ensure it reaches maturity. With advancements in tech, it has shifted in people thinking they can raise a child without two parents, but you can’t. Not without hurting the child.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/20 12:10 AM

That’s not how “love” works. Correct me if I’m wrong, but maybe you and men who feel this way just haven’t been with a good women who actually falls in love for the right reasons.

The US is not a patriarchal society. Saying that is ignorant to the terms legit meaning and discredits the women who are in politics, or in the professional work force.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/20 10:31 PM

You’re looking at it as if people are just one dimensional. And that there is no other reason to like/love someone aside from money or looks. Both can be taken with in seconds, so falling in love due to one of those two reasons is idiotic
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/20 10:28 PM
5

I mean getting laid is easy. But your friend in his 30s may not find a good, worth while women to marry bc women also don’t like guys with high body counts. Just bc you can get a lot of girls, doesn’t mean you have to.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/20 10:26 PM
1

Ah yes, because women don’t fall in love and only like men with money
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/20 10:04 PM

Yes but the men GO to the women. And the women choose from there. Weather or not to accept your approach, who to have “relations with” and if they accept the males marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/20 10:18 PM
1

No. Most mature and worth while women date to marry. And Marrying a man with a felony is not only social suicide, but financial (getting a loan, housing, him finding a legal job), what if he snaps and commits a crime again, what if it’s against me? Or our kids, friends family? To me it doesn’t matter the crime. It’s the big fat felony on his record. But some woman out there will, but I’m not gonna lie and say theyre the best women. They might be low level women or also felons
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/20 08:30 PM

.... most women want children. It’s maternal instinct, like the thing that keeps a species alive?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/20 08:16 PM

I have my own opinions and I’ve already done my own research (I’m a psychology student and we go over gender periodically) I was just opening a conversation and seeing others opinions.

Each woman is different, I’d say it’s not game, more like is your personality on par with this female and does she like it? Are you attractive to them? There are some people who “play the game” and come off creepy. And there are certain social situations hat one needs to be aware of. Some Guys don’t know the time or place
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/20 07:53 PM
2

Honestly it depends on the culture, the guy and his expectations for a woman he is looking for. In the US I’d say it’s a loose woman, someone who doesn’t take care of their appearance, kinda white trash or ratchet.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/20 07:02 PM
7

Men and woman have their own expectations. For just a date a guy might just expect her to be female and attractive, but in long run, most men want someone interesting and an actual person with opinions and conversation skills. In human biology, women are the “choosers” and the men peacock for female attention. It’s just how humans have naturally evolved.

Fun fact, men over I think 5”9 or 5”10 have on average shorter life spans. And then there’s a similar occurrences women I just forgot the height

100% agree with that. My uncle looked at my kid-cousin weirdly for wearing fairy wings (kid only has sisters and most of the cousins his age are girls) and I just felt bad. His parents are pretty chill with him just being a kid though,

That’s just the name of the Sub. But I agree with that. Identity is important to people. And gender is a big part of one’s identity

Some men’s products are more expensive. I saw one of those pore strips and but it was called something stupid like “Gentle-Man strips” and had a dude with a fancy mustache on it. Like 2ndollars more and half the amount of strips.

I think clothes are most appropriate for gendering. I have weird feet too, so if I’m getting boots for working I get men’s

Lol Youre right, I don’t have kids yet. I use to use an old Heman toy to be my Barbies Boyfriend. And then I had a crap ton of LPS and Bratz. I do think young girls and boys naturally gravitate to those toys, but most aren’t shy with playing with the other toys. And girls are definitely willing to play rough with the boys.

I never said women liked being single moms. And I never said welfare was good. My family was on it for awhile and it sucked. And I’m sorry to hear about your friends ex and what she went through. I know a girl who went through the same thing. Love makes people blind. And I’m glad she got out of that relationship bc it was better for the child. But let’s remember this. Most men aren’t abusive. That’s her experience and story. But it’s not most. Welfare made it seem to make being a single mother e…

I’ve grown up, I was angry and sometimes sad. But I’ve gotten better thank you. And I’m sure there’s kids out there who feel similar. I don’t like the hate single mothers get. But I do fault them and the dads. But maybe I’m also still a bit spiteful😂

If they don’t want to be “imprisoned” by a child they shouldn’t have a sex with a woman that they aren’t married/willing to have a child with

Lol I’m gonna go with the second option. But that’s not the majority opinion. It’s legal/ biology term is fetus. But that’s just a baby that hasn’t been born yet. It’s not just a clump of cells, it’s not a “parasite” (which I hear that term a lot) it’s a human life. Humans are one of the only primates to kill their young. And it’s sad. And I don’t like it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 09:37 PM

Then what about the emotions of the child? Does it not matter? Maybe it’s my overly sympathetic nature, but those babies deserve better consideration.

I mean, I don’t like abortion unless it’s completely necessary for safety and health. If we didn’t have so many loopholes to get out of responsibility, then we might not even need this conversation. People don’t want to take responsibility tho. Some people even make babies to con the system. Which I think is the most sick.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 09:31 PM

Well I do try to understand. And I see the consequences with in my peers the most. Ik a lot of single mothers, some are divorced, some were in hs when they had their babies, and some got married bc of the pregnancy’s I do think men play a role. They make up the other half. Both adults need to hold responsibility.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 09:28 PM

Ohh, okay makes sense! Lol Yea you’re probably right, but in conversations like this, they should be considered. But that’s just my opinion.

Those kids definitely need more support, but it seems like there’s so many more children with out dads. I feel like I missed a big chunk of my self with out him, but that was just my experience. And many people do turn out fine with out a dad. But I went through a few therapy sessions(it was actually a school thing) and my dad and my outlook on men came up a fair amount. Didn’t think it would bc I never thought about it, or realized its affect until then. I think it varies from person to person.

I’ve read that. Been awhile tho, and I don’t think we will see real impact until those kids are fully grown. I will admit this thread is very hetero-normative, but that’s still a majority of the population. I do think a child would be much better with two parents. Regardless of gender. But there is also a studies that show that kids look up to the parent who is the same gender as them. Here’s this one: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.menslegal.com/blog/studies-say-children-identify-with-parent-…

And it’s society that is encouraging woman to be free and sexual liberation and all that, and men are hoping in on that ride. It takes two to make a Baby.

PPD? Postpartum depression? Sorry that’s the only meaning for that abbreviation. I think if your talking about a child and life, it’s more than just Facts and number. But they are important. No one is thinking about these kids.

Nothing can fill the gap of a fathers place. I looked up to a teacher as a father figure when in hs, but at the end of the day, he wasn’t my dad. He had his own kids, his own life. I was just a pupal that he went above and beyond for. I still cry at the memory of when he said I was like a daughter to him, and he helped me a lot. But he wasn’t my dad, and he was only in my life during hs. It would have been better to just have my dad. I’d be a lot better mentally. I suggest reading this: https://…

You’re assuming I’d get pregnant. Which I won’t. All that is personal though and not important. I’m glad you’re teaching your daughter to be picky with her men. And I hope her the Best. The issue is a society issue. Everyone just accepts that a lot of sex is okay, and there’s to many loopholes out of responsibility. People need to take responsibility for their actions, but when there’s so many exits, people are more willing to take them. Real life is based on the choices you make. And the choice…

I think having a child out of wedlock is bad. And I don’t like the way society normalizes sexual deviancy. But it’s not just woman who need to step up, it’s men too. Society needs to stop lifting people up for being just nasty. It’s not cute to have a lot of sex, male or female, it’s gross. And there are consequences. And if you can’t pay the piper don’t hire him.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 08:42 PM

Right after that I said that they can, but it hurts the child in the long run. So you can be a single parent (man or woman tho it’s mostly women) but that child misses out on a lot due to this. Which I explained in my comment. People aren’t independent creatures in my opinion and understanding. We’re a pair bond species, we are social creatures and our societies are based on the presumption that people contribute to it. But that last bit is really my opinion on humanity not single mothers.

Bc it takes two to make a child, so we have to look at both sides of that child’s creation. Women become mothers once they have that child, they become single mothers if they choose to have that child with a guy who isn’t willing to take responsibility. It’s a two person issue, bc it takes two. Men play an important role in the natural order of things. And society forgets this. Women are import too, but society has just forgotten the importance of fathers and men. and humans have just said “scre…

It does not “short circuit” the males role. His DNA runs through that child. Women carry babies. Men and woman creat it. And the parents should raise it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 08:19 PM

I’m going to disagree. While the woman has the choice to terminate the pregnancy, she didn’t make the baby herself. The guy has a responsibility to the life that he created. She’s may be single mother bc she chose to have sex with a man who wasn’t committed/a good man, but he is a father because he is half of the child. Weather or not he decides to be in the child’s life is up to him.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 08:08 PM

I did. You just made it seem that a man was just a fertilizer and plays no role in a child’s life. Fathers are important to growing children and a child needs them.

.... the father has nothing to do with that baby aside from being a sperm donor? If he doesn’t want a child he shouldn’t be having sex, especially if it’s unprotected. It’s 50% the woman and 50% the man bc it takes two to tango

Be a man and raise the kid you created. If you’re part of the making of that kid, then you should respect that child enough to be in their life
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/20 07:46 PM

..if you consent to the sex that made that child, you consented you any and all consequences of it. It’s selfish to be part of a child’s creation but not it’s rearing

(Moderate/right leaning, young female)! The double standard on those subreddits is always astounding to me. The main issue is in the American welfare system, which low key took away the need for a provider(a husband/man) and allowed people to believe the lie that a single mother could raise a child on her own. And she can, but there are consequences. For the children. The boys and girls don’t have a father figure in most cases, so the girls will have “daddy issues” seeking validation in men as sh…
