You're correct. I didn't read the article. I was responding to the comment about paedophiles & child sex offenders being different. Many overlap, but also there are paedophiles who choose to be celebite &, therefore, don't become child sex offenders. In N, anyone who has sexual contact with someone under the age of 16 had broken the law. 18 for paid sexual services. If the victim is under 12, they are dealt with with longer sentences. In NZ the age gap is noted when both parties are close in age…

This is true. Not all paedophiles are child sex offenders in any way. Source: 15 years (& counting) working as a qualified therapist with both groups. In prison & the community.

My son studied prostate cancer, cos he has one, whilst the rest of his class studied breast cancer cos of the funding attached to it. He received no funding. Still, he was the only one in his class who passed their Masters degree with distinction. Lol. But, IMHO there should be equal funding for both.

Very proud of my 28 yr old son. He was down for the weekend visiting me & took time to meet up with a bunch of school friends. They promised themselves they'd do this cos they lost a couple of close - ish mates to suicide. 4 of these fiends have lost their jobs to covid & they all wanted to physically check in with each other to talk about their mental health. They also talked of loud of stuff & downed a few too many beers. Lol. It's good to look out for each other.

Find some good help. I was sexually abused by my.mother for 14 years & didn't get help for over 30 years. Please do it sooner than I did. Hugs.

I can only speak of the institutions I have worked in - both prisons & hospitals - in a couple of first world countries. I do find the custodial staff I work alongside are fascinating & most are great, caring people. Their reasons for choosing that career are many & varied. Some more humane than others. Also men are more likely to be raped by female prison officers/instructors/tutors/nurses in adult prisons/youth prisons/borstal etc etc. Stats & research from the South South Institute, UN (but hard to find there).

I totally agree with you! I am a therapist & I mainly work with men who have been sexually abused/assaulted/raped. Almost a third of them have been assaulted by foster mums. They often don't see the damage that caused cos of the male concept of how good it is to 'score' with an older woman - however they also have massive dysfunction in their lives & can't figure out why until I help them to join a few dots. Not fun at all as they realise the damage done.
