Sex shouldn't be about being dominant. It's about whatever you both want. If you're into being dominated then go for it. You shouldn't apologise for it or hold back because your scared it's not 'alpha'.

I'm 25 so maybe it's something I'm missing through experience. The 80/20 rule seems extreme. Most people I know are hooking up with girls fairly regularly. Maybe not every week but certainly once a month or so they'll have a one night stand. Maybe it's an age thing and I'll start to see it all kicking in as I get older?

This seems incredibly extreme. You make it sound like there's no middle ground when in fact most people are in the middle ground. More than likely they will have both fucked around, both be jaded and over weight and both be less attractive than in their youth.
